It has saved me numerous times, atleast 3 times in the last five months of owning the 8.
Where can I get one of those V1's?

Nailed for 83 in a 50. Cop wrote ticket for 60mph, and I had it dismissed b/c RI is an oldschool, point free, badass state. I guess I've got a good combination of luck and knowledge - I know most spots they patrol, and make sure I'm slowing down at points where I'm entering "blind" turns. My cruise speed tends to be 90, and WOT on open stretches of highway. Night runs - always at much more reasonable speeds.

My first ticket was the night i bought my VR 8. coming home from the dealer, a state police got on my *** after the exit ramp and said that i clipped the solid white line that divides the ramp from the highway. I dont know if i did or not but anyway, he only gave me a warning. Two months ago, I got a ticket for going 85 on a 45 on lake shore drive on a sunday morning (530 am). totally deserved it. Illinois also does not have a point system, i just pay the fine and agree to supervision.

Haha, I dont know i think 8s are cop magnets. I mean I have been looking at buying an 8 lately and when i went to take a test drive, all of a sudden i see a cop on my *** . I was spending, but he followed me for alittle and hn went away. I was like damn this is alot more attention i have recieved from a cop. Lucky me so far i have never been pulled over and gotten a ticket.

I haven't got a speeding ticket in about 7+ years. I did get a California stop ticket a few years ago in a different car. I speed, but I try not to be aware and not be far different that fastest traffic flow.

That's a huge fine! I remember when you got that ticket. How much over were you going?

Pretty sure I just set the pace for the highest speeding ticket in an 8 on Labor day 3 days ago.

First ticket in over 3 years, and ironically for the previous 2 hours i'd cruised at 70MPH in a 65.

Come up on a band of semi's and cars (about 3-4 or so) on the passing lane. No one is in the right lane, but the traffic in the right lane is starting to close in slowly. So naturally, I wanna catch the break from behind the 68MPH traffic...take a good look around and think i'm clear. Hammer into the right lane and start to get on it. As with most passes, i'm watchin the redline rather than the speed. RIGHT when it get to the apex of the pass (the very front of the front truck) I pull ahead JUST in time for a state trooper to clock me from the median...ironically RIGHT where I couldn't see him because of the truck I was passing in the RIGHT lane.

Trooper clocked me at an unreal 93 in 65 on I75. After he told me, I really couldn't believe it...it felt like i were goin maybe 80. However, I didn't put up any fight...i deserved it...even if it was a spur-of-the-moment speeding ticket. However, to my dismay, the ticket was only $95...as it is my first violation in over 3 years. Although it shook me up, I got off a lot better then most I talk to. and BTW...im 24.

I'm pretty sure this has to be one of the largest tickets on this forum. Not really a good feeling

I didn't get a ticket but I got pulled over for going 127 in a 55... basically it was a long wide turn and we blew past the tropper in oncoming lane. We just pulled over a few miles up the road bceause we saw him bluelight and turn around. It took a good 2-3 minutes for him to catch up and blow right past us... he got about a mile down the road before he figured out we pulled over, he turns around, pulls up the the door, says" slow down" and drives off. It was great. Then we had to go did the V1 back out of the backseat.

I have been pulled over 3 times total, 1st time by state tropper, pulled me over for "speeding" and we talked about my car and he let me go, the coolest cop i've ever met. The 2nd was going to Dallas, TX passing through this small rinky dink town of Palmer, got a ticket for doing 91 in a 65, they had to get 2 police cars to pull me over, they thaught i was running away, since i pulled over before the cop was even behind me lol. Then jsut reciently I got pulled over less then 5 minutes from my house doing 5 over the limit(i as going with the flow of traffic.) he pulled me over and gave me a ticket for the 5 over, and THEN FOR NOT HAVING MY HEADLIGHTS ON AT 3 in the afternoon!!!!... and finally invested into a radar detector and so far so good, knocking on wood.

Well I can say after 8 years of driving, i have never recieved a ticket. (i do speed lol). I did get technically from a RED LIGHT camera that our city has installed (POS). I was turning and it turned red right before tires passed the line. However, it was in a company car and my company (previous one) was very lazy at doing paperwork, and finaly they ended up paying it instead of giving me the paper to sign. (it was 300$).

I always tell people when they ask " wow how fast does that go? " It goes 0 to the speed limit very fast. But my TS was 145 so far, and no ticket.

^ absolutely. I'll take a ticket (and be very courteous) for really blowing by the limit. A ticket for 5 over is just a cop being a dick, at which point I'll return the favor.

I really think part of the issue is that forums are frequented by the younger generation so the majority of 30-something individuals with RX8s probably dont post on this board.

Believe it or not students can make money too, I'm 23 working on a degree and busting my *** working which allows me to afford a nice place and equally nice car, oh and no speeding tickets. You shouldn't feel like you've been cheated on the social latter of vehicle ownership because someone half your age owns the same thing. look at these kids in Dubai that own Enzos, now that pisses me off.

I had mine for 2.5 years and I never got pulled over once. I traded it in on an Evo and got a speeding ticket three months later. Oh, well.
