Options in regards to new flash in Canada are..
1) * DO NOT!!! get the newest flash update if you havent already.Once installed I've been told that you cant go back to previous flash.
2) * Get new flash and be happy with lower high rpm power and 180klm limit.
Car does idle smoother and drivability (in town) is better
3) * Get new flash / purchase Cobb Accessport device and software or other device so you can unlock limitations.
Looks like I'm going with option #3 out of pure prefference . Geez I bought a car that originally did 240+ kph and revved to no end .Now I own a car that can be passed by almost any Hyundai or compact around. YAY. I feel like I've been screwed out of 40 mph and lower performance than the previously (nothing to brag about)power and torque delivered by this car. It just keeps getting better.
I still love the car and the handling . BTW The new 2009 rx8's here in Canada hit 240 kph no problem .
EDIT : I got responses from 4 dealerships in Alberta and they have all told me (after some digging) that all cars from Mazda Canada are governed to 180 kph. I told one rep that I could care less about warranty coverage and explained that I had only expected re-call work done .
I did not want my car speed governed or limited to 8500 rpm ,to boot it seems to have less power at 7500-8500 rpm. I cant even hear the audible bell at 9000 rpm!
