As if you can't find a Vette on the road.

A used Z06 would be a good choice though.

I would love a C5 ZO6.....but then I would have to find a different car to drive in the winter. At least with the Mustang I can slap on some winter tires and still have some driveability.

Hey guys.....bought a Mustang GT coupe this afternoon. It's Tungston Silver with an all glass roof. I don't pick it up until Tuesday, but I'll take pics that night and post them. The glass roof is amazing......waay better than a power moonroof. Here is a link to show you what it looks like: http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...splay/637.html

I cannot wait until Tuesday!!!!!!

If I am not mistaken does that not come on the Saleen or Shelby? ( not a mustang fan so not sure which one)

It's a dealer option for any Mustang including Saleen and Roush. Per the invoice it's a $3K option and I must say it's worth it.

An all-glass roof is a pretty cool option. Can't wait to see your pics.

Good call on the mustang, the GTO is very boring looking IMHO. The Mustang has some very nice lines and I love the front end, especially the GT. Both cars are high HP lead sleds made for the stop lights, I wonder if you'll miss the 8's nimbleness? At least you'll be getting better gas mileage, enjoy.

It was a toss-up between the two because I really like them both.....in the end the 0% 72-month financing won. I drove it for an hour today before signing for the car. I immediately missed the RX8's handling as the stock GT suspension is not meant for the twisties. Power is amazing but that is expected. Brakes suck compared to the RX8.....but those can be changed down the road. In a couple of years I'll call up Kenne Bell for a s/c kit and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 450rwhp for about $5K Cheap hp is something that just doesn't exist with the RX8 which is too bad....hopefully that will change.

The glass roof is really what sold me though. The Tungston Silver is not my favorite color....but when you see the glass roof in person it's amazing. Unfortunately the Mustangs don't get many looks just driving around bone stock.....but with the infinite mods available for this car.....you can definitely make it your own.

the mustang from a stoplight is about the same as an 8 the GTO is a 13 second car whereas the GT is a high 14 second car.

i have nothing against the mustang it is a good car and congrats on the new purchase but everyone has a different taste

Where are these fantasy races between a GT and RX-8 taking place? The GT is not a high 14 second car.

ok muscle mustang and fast fords magazine rates them at a 13.9-14 second car, they have been driving them for years have perfected it and know exactly how to run high consistent times now you tell me what the average mustang GT driver is going to run.

Well, you made a good deal on the RX-8 sale, but a bad one with he GTO. I got my brand new 2006 GTO for 29k OTD. Not to mention it is a lot faster than that rustang and is a lot more comfortable inside. If you like it than that is all that matters, but I am still yet to find any other GTO's on the road.

I was shopping on a budget though....I had to keep the monthly pmt around $400.

I could also have gotten a GTO for $29K OTD....but at 4.9% financing with a monthly pmt of $507. I got my Mustang for $29K OTD at 0% financing with a monthly pmt of $403. Had money been no issue than I would have purchased the GTO.....but I was trying to reduce my car pmt from the RX8, not increase it.

I definitely think the GTO's interior is nicer and more comfortable......but the GTO doesn't have a glass roof and I can honestly say that is the coolest option on the Mustang IMO.

The GTO is definitely faster than the stang.....but the stang is fast enough for what I do with it......for now Modding the stang is cheap and easy and without a doubt I'll be looking for some power adders within a year.

Plus, here in Michigan you find just as many GTO's as Mustangs.......and hardly any RX8's which was the initial appeal to me.

BTW, I love the color combination you chose on your GTO.....I was looking for the same package when I was searching for one.

Many owners have run high 13s in the new Mustang GT, yet here there's a sticky because some mod managed to run a 14.6... If the average Stang GT owner runs low to mid 14s, then the average RX-8 owner runs low to mid 15s.

Like I said, I work at a dealership. And at the time, a lady (around 40ish) decided she did'nt want the rx-8 anymore, she said it was to hard for her to drive and wante to get rid of it no matter what. She loved the styling of the car. But in the end it was not practical for her daily use. So she decides to buy a Tahoe. So when I hit her with the trade figure (hoping I could get it really cheap, I really wanted to buy her rx-8) I hit her with only 17k for her car and she actually accepted it. All she really cared about was the price of the Tahoe, which I gave to her for a really good price. So that makes two happy people. So I talked to the manager, and he said I could have it for 1 grand more than what they got it for.

I despise the dealership trade-in pricing.

Yeah sure they will almost always take a car, but they bend a person over when they do.

Glad you were able to hook up on an 8 Wreckless and I am not aiming this rant at you but they make so much off of people that don't do their homework.

That is why a lot of people hate going to dealerships as much as going to get teeth pulled at the dentist... (something I have never had done but the thought is what matters).

Niche Bascho, that roof looks cool. But 3 grand? And won't it bake your head?

What are your impressions so far. I tried one before I bought the 8 and really enjoyed it. Is it an '05? The optional '06 rims are real nice.

Depends if you're talking previous generation and current generation. New GT's are way quicker. The old 4.6's are about even with a RX8.

Does the Ford Mustang have "live-axle" rear suspension? Hmmm..., just asking!
