Congrats! How did you get so much for the car?

Damn, you're lucky to get that much for the car. Either someone had money to waste or didn't do their homework. I wouldn't mind finding a sucker to pay that much for mine.

Go GTO, they will become a collectors car in the future.

I just dont get how a 400ish HP 2 door car could be cheaper insurance then a RX-8 230ish HP 4-door. I do like raw power, but I hate strait line cars. I work with some die hard mustang fans at my job, 1 guy had the GTO but he sold it for a cobra and he swears its a way better car.

What are you looking for in a car?

I got my Rx-8 for 24k otd maybe I should sell it for 25K! and score 1k$ spending loot!

Good luck bascho, the GT made it on my short list before I bought the 8, never would have considered a Mustang in the past untill the '05 came out.

But if you're concerned about resale, both the Mustang and the GTO will be awful, especially once the new Challenger and Camaro come out, and these may be worth the wait. Then again, if you're concerned about loosing money why are you buying new cars and flipp'n them right after???

Anyways, the fact that you sold your 8 for $25 thou. may suggest that the resales on 8's aren't as bad as you thought.

I would never normally want a Roush because they are waaay over-priced for what you get. They have different stages of modification and each stage increases the price. The Stage I mods include brakes, suspension, body kit and induction system. Stage II adds more power adders. Stage III is practically a full blown race car.

I have a 2005 Shinka and the Black Cherry paint and tan leather just make the car look more expensive than it is. The people that bought the car are older and probably not internet savvy......so they have no clue about the incentives Mazda is offering on new ones. However, you can't really find any 2005 Shinkas anymore and they really fell in love with the color.

I was very surprised that they paid me $25K.....especially since I had a dealer tell me $20K for trade-in three days earlier. They are an older couple so I don't think they did much research. Luckily only like 1% of the population of this country are auto enthusiasts.

I was absolutely blown away by the quote......I was expecting the GTO to be considerably more than the RX8. That is the one great thing about getting older though.....car insurance goes waaay down

I can't believe that guy thought the Cobra was better than the GTO......I think they are dead even in everyway.

I never go to the twisties so I never really got to enjoy the RX8. For my commute and 90% of my driving I am on straight roads with slight curves......a straight-line accelerator will be more fun to me.

I'm surprised too. I got a quote on a 2001 Trans Am WS6.... it was double what I pay for the 8.

I'd sell my 8 too if I got that much for it. You're a very lucky man.

Well my luck is running out. The dealer cannot give me a good enough deal on a 2006 GTO.....so that is off the table. Right now I'm looking at a Mustang GT as choice # 1 and choice #2 will be to go used......then I really have no idea what I would choose.

you can get a new 2005 GTO in some areas for around 25-26k if you want a mustang its not worth it unless you are getting the shelby or an 03-04 cobra. the interior isnt very impressive on the mustang and they are on every corner driven by 16 year old girls.

Have you thought about seeing an SVT dealer and having them mod out a Mustang for you, all under warranty? When my 8's lease is up next year I'm thinking about doing that myself.

If I decided to ditch the RX 8, I would keep an eye out for a clean, low mileage 2003-2004 390 hp Mustang Cobra. A simple pulley swap will net you about another 50 hp and ....well it's a Cobra!

I can find plenty of 03-04 Cobras in the low-to-mid 20's(out of warranty)......but financing rates suck right now. A 60-month loan (currently at 7%) on $25,000 is a monthly pmt of $495!!!! I can get a brand new Mustang GT with the 0% 72-month plan and pay $400 per month.

if you live in california i would definately check this 1 out only 13k miles

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=75

with low miles u can get better financing if you find a good bank...and its a private seller so im sure you can get them down a couple grand on price

True.....that's another reason I want to stay away from the used Cobras.

I'm in MI.....and I found two locally with less than 15K miles for $25000 (both convertibles). I am thinking about checking around for a better rate....but it looks like 7% is the going rate for a 2002-2004 used vehicle. The rate for 2005-2006 used is a little better....but no where near the 0% Ford is offering right now.
