In Illinois

Just a few dealers now are getting their allotments...on average now I have seen approx. 5 cars at 3 dealerships. I think most people don't even know about the car here yet unless you happened to notice one in the front of a dealer lot. Just lastnight I saw the first commercial during the Bears game. So, I think once more people know about it they will begin to sell just as quickly.....I think it's easier to negotiate now....but I only got $500 off MSRP a month go......thinking I may try to get more off by the time it arrives in October sometime.

I am in S.W. Connecticut and had to call four dealers before I found one that had one I could test drive. Everyone coming in was supposedly already sold.

I saw on websites two + pages of "stock", but all were slated to come in, they weren't sure when they would actrually arrive.

I finally found a dealer with one to drive. They had three in stock - blue, yellow, red.

I bought the red....fully loaded...at the MSRP.

They gave me real good trade on my Audi TT.

I am very pleased with the car.

I live in the Temecula area (just north of San Diego) and every single Mazda dealership within a 50 mile radius has 5 or more in stock at this time.

Thats not even counting dealers like Tustin... which have a crapload on hand. If you're still interested in an 8 a month from now, I think they will be selling for slightly above invoice, if not invoice. I havent bought my s2k yet, but if I could get an 8 at invoice... hell, that might just be too good a deal to pass up.

I wonder ehy folks who have the car are only seeing a few on lots, while thoise that do not see a lot?

hmmmmmmmm, I would wonder who to believe, but then again I have verified at least one cliam involving 90 cars at mapleshade mazda was NOT TRUE (only 6 cars per lot).

Hows that old song go "things that make you say hmmmmmm"

Just called Tustin and spoke with a sales guy named Jim... they have over 20 available for sale. Should I call Irvine and ask them too?

I think it's also a regional thing, this is not going to be a very popular car in Wi. due to our nasty winters, and I think if someone is going to buy a car that's going to be a primarily summer car why would you not get an S2k or Stang GT convertible so you can have a true summer car... I think in general Mazda probably doesn't do well in Wi., I know it's one of the few places in the country where you can find a MT Mazda 6S, and the 929, 626 were RWD so were not popular. I just called the salesperson I had when I looked at the car that I saw the 6 RX-8s at a few weeks back and they have 12 on the lot and ready to be sold.

Why can't people just accept the fact that their precious RX-8 isnt going to sell like a hotcake? And that some of us are waiting to buy the car at a reduced price instead of paying 31,000 or more? Not all of us are that rich .

As of Mon, Sept 15, one of three area dealerships has 23 RXs sitting on the lot. Most are WELL in the back. It's plausible to assume that the other dealerships in the area have similar numbers.

Not good.

Be nice..

Some of the guys on the list take this way too seriously, and we don't want to hurt their feelings.

I think right about now most of them are still tripping over people looking at their cars all the time.

It will wear off soon enough, and then reality will begin to set in.

"She's just a 3 dressed up as an 8, wastin my time.."

I drove by my dealer this morning, and for the first time they had 8s out front- one of each color. Though, they seem to be moving pretty fast, as that's the first time I've seen that many there, and I *know* they've gotten a ton.

Yes, I am right by the turnersville lot. They are still sticking to MSRP. I beleive that they are being held in check by mazda, probably for the next 6 months. I tried holman, and all the phila dealerships, and they all said list. Mapleshade did give me a few "extras" so you could say I got it slightly below MSRP, but There was a reason for that. If you trade yours in you lose the free maintenance, and the $500.00 back. I guess it depends what 6 months of driving a dam good car are worth to you. For me, I would rather keep it

I have seen one down at the AC airport, but that is it!
I wonder if we have the only three in our area?

By the way, notice how no one has talked about how mapleshade had 90 or so cars, even though their lot can not hold that many?

And how come no one has givin up the name of the canaden dealer who is supposedly taking $2,000 off of the price? Guess it was all BUL$#@^!

Hope to see you on the road, can not miss me, red with blk/red leather!

I hope that guys that have deposits on a car at MSRP can get a better deal and get their car . They will like it alot and even at 230hp it will be a hell of a deal for a car that good. I'm in Canada and cars are very rare here. (RX-8 i mean) I like mine, paid a fair price in Cdn $ and have no intention of giving it back.

I'm pretty sure the US market just has too many delivered and the dealers are flooded. Sent a few hundreds up north and they will sell in no time
