So apperantly the 8 is as fast as a late 90's civic EX
I was getting on the highway today and we were in the merge lane and i was on the phone so the car was still in 2nd at 6k and i punched it to get over onto the highway, and there was a civic next me that i could not pass and get in front of untill the top of third when he backed off. And he went by me after i slowed down and it was a factory civic ex like a late 90's year... Ugh... This is getting sad... I know everyone will say yeah but he has a civic you drive an rx-8 that looks and handles so much better. I feel like i have a doberman that is about as badass as a poodle lol. Atleast on the highway...
You haven't considered that he may have had a motor swap or some other sleeper mods. I don't know, but I don't seem to have any of these problems. I have taken down Hemi 300C's, 225HP TT's, RSX-S's and other not problem over the years.
I am pretty sure it did not have a swap. I can not be certain though. I was just a mediocre looking Civic ex with no visable mods. And no noise from exhaust i could just hear his intake a little. He might have gotten a half second jump on me too but i dont know i was talking to someone at the time... It makes sense to me though a car with 180hp that is JUST under 3k lbs ( i had my car weighed )vs. a 120 ish hp car that is 2500 lbs. Does not seem too far fetched.
well thats a shame if there is policy on a message board about not talking about something. I thought i lived in America, my bad. It was more like trying to get on the highway as someone driving right beside me. If that makes you feel any better. Maybe if the car had another 50hp i would not feel the need to haul *** getting up to the speed limit. and then maybe i would spend less than 400 dollars a month on gas just going to school and work.
We have a lot of old busted up looking civic's with k20's and such in them around these parts so I wouldn't be too surprised if I got my *** handed to me in a mid to late 90s civic. Guess it depends on your area, but it certainly is possible.
We have a CRX clan in town that can run under 11 secs in the 1/4 mile, but they look totally stock. (till you pop the hood)
And this board kinda frowns upon street racing . . .notice that we have no "kill" section.

i dont understand why they give a crap i dont think i have ever seen anyone out of there mid 20's driving an 8, i am sure people will say otherwise but where i live i cant say that i have. Well except for the middle aged women that drive them.

1) You somehow think you have freedom of speech on a private message board. Elaborating on this would be a fallacy, so I won't even bother.
2) You bitch about gas prices. Correct me if I'm wrong but you probably saw the sticker on the side window that said 18mpg right? Or, assuming you bought the car used, you at least did a bit of research? Personal responsibility man, if you don't like the car trade it in and get yourself your own little 90's civic. It seems right up your alley.
I can't believe I'm wasting my time with this BS again but here goes:
The first time is 0-60, the second 1/4 mile...
2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe 8.4 16.7
1996 Honda Civic EX Sedan 10.5 17.6
2006 Honda Civic Si 6.3 14.9
2004 Mazda RX-8 5.8 14.49 (6 speed) (MT Mar '04)
Not even close IF it was stock.
http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
Of course these are times from 0 mph so it's not the same but you get the idea.

Title of this thread should be "Apparently a late 90's Civic is faster than my 8".
YOU got bitched, not the RX-8. Next time get off ur cell phone and pay attention and the outcome will be different. (well...should be)

Does anyone smell something sour? Oh must be a troll.
Likely a civic/rsx/350z/g35 whatever owner jealous of the 8. Starts up a pseudo ID and pretend he's an 8 owner and proceeds to bash it.
Had a rental civic ex once. no way it can keep up with an rx-8.
