Smoke from Exhausts

hey, I got a question for all of you. When you turn on your car in the morning does some smoke come from the exhausts???? I called Mazda and they said that sometimes smoke comes out of the RX-8 because, something about lubing the apex.

This is true? Anybody else having this problem? The smoke dissappears after 2 mins or so, but it's a new '05 with 1800 miles on it. Smoke coming out of a new car doesn't sit right with me.

Unless it is white smoke that smells like almonds then I don't think you should really worry too much about it. But make note of what they say just in case it happens to be something that causes you future problems.

You sure it's smoke? Where do you live? It's been colder now in the mornings and it's normal for any car to appear to smoke when it's started up on a cool morning.

i'm in milwaukee. and it was 3 days ago when it started up again. at that time it had rainned the night before. so i'm wondering if the mist or condensation caused it. today there was some smoke, but also it was a little misty outside. could that cause it??

Maybe little mice are BBQ'ing inside your exhaust piping... cooking rat meat on the fire while singing Micky Mouse songs?

You do know that this car is supposed to burn oil, right? Some is normal. Make sure you check the oil weekly.

I would say its nothing. The mornings have been cooler up in your area over the past few days. When there's a cold night rain, that will guarantee it happening. Are you sure its smoke and not just condensation? Smoke will linger alot longer than condensation.
