Ok all you Copper red mica rx8 special edition Shinka owners out there with the sand leather/suede interior this is you chance to make me feel a drop bad about my 07 Silver with red/black leather interior.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the simple statement that the Silver color makes, especially when combined with the red/black leather interior. Though, since my prior ride was copper red mica (07 mx5) I must admit that would have been a better color to love. I know it shows the dust more but man it is pretty on an 8, even more so then on the mx5 I would say.

So tell me please, for thoses that don't want to worship their car to care for their seats, does anyone regret the sand leather/sude seats and would prefer to have had just leather?

I wouldnt trade my seats for anything!!!!. I can basically wear what I want and never have to worry about my skin burning or sticking to the seats. They seem to refract heat instead of absorbing it keeping the car cooler on the inside in the summer, and they are cozy when it's cold out being heated.

I don't eat in my car, and do not allow anyone to drink other than myself, and only in a bottled container with a lid, but thats any car.

I love the black/red color combo. I dunno if it would have been a good combination for the Copper Red... l but I've seen it in several other color combinations and its gorgeous. The Copper Red is a unique color yes, and very sexy IMO on the 8, but no more so than any other color I've ever seen. Mazda has not failed on their choice of colors for the 8 so far.

it was back in July I believe that I got the slightly used mx5 and think at that time they had one of the rx8 copper red shinka's in the show room which seems weird since I think the only year that did that combo was in 06. Hard to think they could have had a left over 06 Shinka that late into the next year, 07/07.

At the time I was not going to spend that kind of $$$ for a 2nd ride (famous last words...) so I didn't pay much attention to it. Plus figured the sand interior with suede would be a problem. I probably won't put my two 38 lb doggies in my car now but at the time was considering it. Did not take into consideration that the suede could make them more comfortable in the summer time.

Hopefully it was a stick anyway....
I got what I like to call the 75% solution and went with the auto/manual mode. Will say I have not yet tired of the black/red interior along with the black/red steering wheel. Makes me smile each time I sit in it.

I know a stick 07 red with sand interior was to me a 'show stopper'. Now that was near perfect combo. If I had the choice of all three with the auto/stick it would be hard to have picked one but based on your input then maybe the copper with sand/suede would have been the winner (I just won't tell that to my 8).
