CA Is the SI worth as much as SII?

Hey Rx8er's,

I got an offer in the mail yesterday from my nearby mazda dealership (Browning) which is also the dealership where I bought my 2006 Rx8. From the looks of it, the letter says they would like to basically trade my '06 rx8 for the 2012 model. What do you people interpret from this letter? Thanks.

-Ben

since a new Rx8 is 35K (?) and a used 06 is something like half that, to finance you at the same monthly payment, do they not have to extend the length of the loan?

i'm trying to avoid maths, but if you're paying $1 a month for 15,000 months, then to get a $1 payment, but double the amount, do they not have to double the time? $1 month for 35,000 months?

if you're interested, by all means get in touch with them, but you still are going to have to pay the difference in cost between the new car and old car

In the letter they clearly state that they can put you in a 2012 RX8, or they will give you $50 in gas.
Go get your gas, since there is not a 2012 RX8. Bait and switch is what I think of that letter.

What they are saying is that you start a whole new loan and the payments on the new car will be the same as what you are paying now. So...Depending on what you pay now will determine the length of the new loan.

Go to the dealership and find out, you have nothing to loose, if you don't like the contract, then don't do it, good luck.

Tell them that you will buy 10 2012 RX-8's, right now.
But they all have to have the new SkyActiv-R engine, or no deal.

BC.

at a car dealership? you must be joking. certainly one of the most honor bound professions in human history, one with a long history of good faith and strong ethics is that of the used car salesman.

in the parts department we never used to learn the sales peoples names, because by the time you remember it, they are gone.

the alternate ending; surely the wall street bankers and such have made car sales people look better? who would you trust Bernie Made-off or Herb Tarlek?

That's your standard sales letter. All car dealers use this technique to try to sell you a new car, whether it be Honda, Mercedes Mazda... etc..

I just got a letter from my dealer offering just under $8000. Nice to know that the rock bottom wholesale value of a 6 1/2 year old car is still 30% of what I paid for it new.

I also got an e-mail saying they need my RX-8, and that it's worth more now than it ever has been. So I replied, saying what the original price was and asking how much above that they're offering.

Yeah, I've gotten offers as well. In the $11-$12k range but my 8 only has about 46k miles...
