Shifting into first while rolling backward?

Is it bad? Like if I pull out of a parking space in reverse, clutch in, shift from reverse to first while still having some backwards roll and clutch out and gas?

Was thinking this might be hard on the trans?

hmmm....would be to annoying to always have to come to a complete stop before going into first....obviously just like anything else your tranny will wear....but it definately won't be that big of a deal...just don't try rolling from 1st into reverse

if you slam the clutch out it's hard on the whole drivetrain.

if you feather the clutch until you start moving forward then it's only hard on the clutch.

At that point you are moving slower than 1 mph, doubt you will harm anything.

Perfectly ok to do.

You'll wear your clutch slightly more than if you come to a complete stop first but as long as you're not going in reverse too quickly it'll be fine.

Don't do it! Your clutch is made of glass and you'll have to get a new one sooner or later!
