A lot of people have been getting engines replaced past 60K on Mazda's dime. You might want to get a lawyer involved. Unless you really aren't telling us everything and you feel you don't have a chance.

What mods did you do?

I've really tried everything with these people...i even let them know that I belonged to this group...I said i know youve granted new engines to people with thousands of more miles than me...and their response was, "we treat each case individually.." I was like, yeah like the security traffic light at the airport "push the button please." "oops, you got the red light, sorry...have a nice day!"

I really love the car, but im so frustrated!!!

when?

if they have not done the recall and it is not in your record you kinda win. a recall is a recall.

next hint...

if you did not get the letter or have not had it done. do it..

i hope it helps, but it may be to late..

good luck.

They cannot say NO to recalls, its required by law.

When you talk to them you have to act like you're the victim. Not the boss. When all else fail, then you act like a boss, start to bring Lawyers and everything in it.

Well thats of course only works if your car has not been modify INTENSIVELY.

What? That stupid Replace spark plugs is not the main point of this recall. It has been there since the Engine-No-Start TSB.

The recall is all about a Vacuum test and ECU reflash(update). how can it be *completed* when the engine has no compression on Rotor 1 ?

http://www.finishlineperformance.com...res_recall.pdf

What kind of modification you have besides your Weapon-R intake ?

You dont have any mods for the whole car? you only put a Mazda made 6 cd changer into your car yourself ?

Where all the Weapon-R intake thing you're selling came from ?

How many miles on ur car ?
List out everything you've done to your car. I mean EVERYTHING.

If you're already out of warranty then you're out of luck -_-

but if its 61 K miles .... you should be able to talk them into giving you another engine, just say you completely lost your faith in Mazda cuz the engine die RIGHT after the warranty is over ... blah blah

and have you thought about buying a Reman Short block ? it cost alot less than what you're paying now.

I got the car in october:

Ive had 3-4 oil changes

Mods:

6 disc cd changer - stock - self install.

Car:

'04 Mazda RX8 Brilliant Black/ Black-Red interior
Automatic Transmission
Nav
Heated Seats
Premium Sound
...everything GT package
18" stock rims with original **** tires

Thats it...then the bad performance started, was idling rough and subsequently wouldn't start...so i took it to the dealer where i received the above invoice. at that time i had 90,541 miles on the car. (on a previous post i meant to say 91k sorry- but when i bought the car i did get a 10,000 mile warranty at about 74-76k)

Now its sitting in a mechanics lot waiting for a new engine.

Well at 91K you will not have a chance to get any warranty from Mazda. Is WAY over warranty period.

but a reman short block cost about 2.4K ? maybe another 200 bux have them ship it to you.

Reman = Re-Manufacture

Short block - the engine itself with nothing else on.

Reman Short Block - a remanufature engine from Mazda.

when the recall thing first started, the rebuilds came directly from Japan, which was good, after a while they outsource it to some plant in the US, I forgot where you can ask MazdaManic he seems to know where, and it gets all fuxked up, now I think Mazda outsource it to somebody else which should be better now.

what do you mean by half a recall ?

btw 2.5K is the short block itself PLUS your core. (1K value)

Meaning after you get your engine, you have to ship them your core to get the 1K back.

according to the procedure they replace the plugs, cat and engine. and they already acknowledged on the invoice that it was warranty work with the word "warranty" next to the 4206f in the "amount due."
