You have to be careful with extra weight in the trunk because it does increase your polar inertia at the rear of the car which makes it more difficult to control oversteer
Buy winter tires/winter rims. Any time the ambient temp is below 8C (46F) the summer tires begin to lose grip. All season tires lose grip at a lower temp than summers but in -23C (-9F) temperatures like this morning the winters are the only way to go.

I'm using about 100 lbs of weight in the trunk:
+1 on extra traction (stock Potenza's) *and* +1 on the oversteer...
Not too hard to manage, but gotta be careful.
Getting all seasons & rims before next winter. Much better plan, as others have said repeatedly...
Only gotta make it about another month. Up until this winter, it hasn't been too bad here in St. Louis.
