why don't you take that 1800 dollars and go to performance driving school and learn something useful, or at least sell your 8 to someone who cares about driving and buy a mustang/camaro instead

Ok, this was a fun read while drinking. Here are my thoughts: It's totally ok in my book for friends to compare cars and look for bragging rights. The problem is, you bought an RX-8. You should already know that even with a good turbo setup, the Renesis will not beat a stock v-6 Accord in a straight line, (ok that might be a little harsh but replace the Accord with a twin turbo Z and it's a race not worth the gas money). But! the good news is, you bought an RX-8!! Tell your friend in the TL to enjoy his moderately powered sedan and find a Lambo/Corvette/Z/whatever else to race on a road course. They will rape you on the straights and then **** themselves when they see you coming in the twistys. This however will require driving school as others have mentioned.
I apologize for others rude remarks about hoping you crash. Truth is we all have done something on public roads we shouldn't and just because you're dumb enough to brag about it doesn't give us the right to criticize. It's just the nature of the type of board we are trying to run here. It's all about the tack baby

Comparing cars is perfectly fine but it's all arm chair racing until someone puts rubber on the road. Posturing and arguing about who is faster is rather pointless unless people are willing to make it happen.

Take it to the track, get your slip and cheer in victory or cry in defeat.

OP, I'll make this easy for you.

The 8 is a sports car, not a muscle car. It's made for handling, which means turns. It's not good at the kind of "races" you want to win.

Also, it's a dumb idea to race on the street. Yeah, I did it myself when I was young and dumb, but it sure was dumb. I've known two people who've been killed by street racing. It happens. It can happen to you and you can make it happen to others.

Quit the stupidity while you're ahead.
