I definately didnt get the 8 for the power, I love the handling and the feel of the car, its plenty fast. Besides if I want to go faster and have more torque i just hope in my 1.8t jetta, can anyone say massive wheel hop, lol.

I still don't know why people compare the 350z with the RX-8.

I've driven my friends '06 Z and it is faster in a straight line. Of course if your driving in real world traffic at posted speeds you wouldn't notice much difference but you would feel the difference of the torque. Several times driving through cities/country roads when following him I can easily keep up. You may have to work a little harder by keeping the revs up in the 8 but that's the appeal to me. Nothing funner than taking every shift to the redline. I felt the power of his Z fall off after about 5500 rpm where the 8 has another 4000 rpm to go and is just getting started.

The Z is lower has 2 seats and much more power/torque.

One thing I notice about the Z compared it the 8 is that it gives the driver no feedback whats so ever. It feels almost brick-like in comparison to the 8. The 8 is light feeling with razor sharp steering, no understeer, and gives you so much more precision when it comes to handling. Even the shifting/clutch felt more precise and direct as if you are directly connected to the RX-8 drive train.

The Z's interior is much more plasticy and looks lowerend compared to the 8's.

I love all kinds of cars (including all Z's and RX's) and am not knocking the Z - it's just a different car.

Drive them back to back on decent roads (not down the service road in front of the dealer) and decide what you are more interested in yourself...

Nobody on here wants to waste their time trying to convince you to get the 8. We know what we got and we like it.

I know trying to follow my friend in his STI on the highway is a waste of time. I think I had to redline the car all the way from 1st to 3rd because he was so far ahead by the time I got out of the toll after him.

Arrow Re:

Well if you had a RSX Type-S, both the RX-8 and the 350z are going to feel faster, if you're worried about off the line performance the RSX is even worse with little torque AND front-wheel drive. If you're worried about torque and don't need backseats the 350z is for you. Bottom line, you'll be improving overy our RSX. Had RSX and TL and both were Type-S models, so glad to be gone from front-wheel drive. Only Honda I'd get now is S2000, S2000 and RX-8 are very similar, high-revving RWD cars with excellent chassis.

The overall package of the rx-8 is superior to its rivals. Just do a search with the magazine journals. And it was the overall capabilities of this car that won me over.

If you live in a town where there are a lot of straight roads and alot of stop lights with almost no curves. I would recommend a mustang or something with more torque. This car is definitely an awesome drivers car but you will have alot more fun flooring it from a dead stop when the light turns green with something like a mustang or 350z. If you live in a place where there are a lot of curvy mountain roads or countryside roads, get this car, you will have a blast driving it.
