I really do not get this jealously line of thinking. Why would they be jealous of a car they do not understand or appreciate? If anything they are haters from experience or stupid crap they have heard or read.

 

Because all the haters of my car are people who drive cars that I could eat for breakfast.

Its funny how all my mustang, camaro buddies respect my car even though it barely runs 14's. Its because they have half a brain.

Its the same **** we all learned in kindergarden; people who make fun of you typically have their own insecuritys.

I said people who 'make fun' of the rx8 typically have their own insecurities.



For example, what compells someone who has a 10 second mustang to make fun of an RX8? Everyone knows its faster, maybe its becuase the RX8 looks better, so that individual has to 'bring attention' to the fact that its slow, etc etc. And thats just one example.

Im not saying everyone is jealous of the 8, that would be a false statement . However, typically the people who make fun of something, including the 8, are insecure or feel like they are 'lacking' something to what they're making fun of.

 

^that is true just this morning some kid came up to me (mean u this was 530am in the school parking lot) and said damn rx8's it's slow as hell isn't it...and i was like dude I saw ur time slip(he drive a hatch civic) it was a 15.9...which he replies "no it was 15.4"...

I just laughed and said I could run a 15.4 without even reving past 6k rpms...

I think the term "Ricer" is a lot different than what was originally meant for the term. These days, ricer is used on ANY car, may it be a mustang with a giant wing or anything. Sure, at first when Imports were coming over, any import car was a "rice" car. But these days, the term has changed considerably, and I doubt most of the people around know what calling an import car "rice" means besides what is in this thread.

So please quit assuming we're just being racist hicks.

From my point of view, you're saying anybody who calls a car 'enthusiast' ricer, we are meatheads and are racist, so we should be calling Hyundai's "Kimchee".

Plus, having a stock wing is hardly rice.
