rx8 a ricer?
Just because you don't track your car, does not make you a ricer for having $3,000 coilovers. It's called paying for quality.
That to me is a shitty, and ricer attitude.

Agreed, I don't even get some show cars to be honest. Always trailored, whats the point of all that power, and suspension mods. Sure it looks nice no doubt. But whats the point if it's never used. Go use it, beat the **** out of it.
^why I will never financially be able to own the only car that has more appeal to me than the 8. The Ferrari 360. I would beat the hell out of it.
i think of all these are great points. i was in class today (auto technician i will be someday lol) and i overheard this guy saying he loved VW's and camaro's suck. fine whatever. But then i asked him have you ever owned a camaro? he said no. Then why do you hate it i asked? he never had an real response. I just do blah blah blah. I find this to be very true among alot of people. Since owning the Rx8 everyone rags on it for being slow, a dirty running engine, and ugly. The ugly thing i can understand, you like what you like. Why hate it thou? its not the fastest car but they make it seem like its slow too. not the case, it will beat alot of cars. dirty running? i was able to put a sniffer to it not all that long ago and it wasn't that bad. I think this must come from the rx7 engine which i guess must have been quote "dirty running." Its all just a carry over. I have owned import and domestic and if people would just calm down and try other things i think they would be surprised. I wanted the rx8 because of its balance, and track times. The next person who insults it better have good reasoning or they will get a mouth full.
The definition of a ricer is ever evolving. Now it is basically any car that some other person believes you added useless mods. It is all matter of opinion.
The term used to be just for the losers that added fake parts to their cars to make it look like custom parts. Cheap hub caps. Fake calipers. Fake intercoolers. Stupid wing. Fake car alarm. Type R stickers on cars other than Honda's. Fake exhaust tips. The list goes on and on.

^I also go to automotive school and I get a lot of Sh*t about the rotary until i start rambling numbers of HP compared to the 1.3L and track times and stuff. Most ppl talk bad because 1: they are jealous that they can't have a unique car/engine like ours or 2: they don't understand how they work and they are not the norm so the must "suck"
however after i explain how it works to the number 2: ppl they are alot more interested until i tell them gas mileage haha!!!!

well you bring up a good point with fuel economy which i am sure can be covered in volumes on here. I do agree that for its size it does suck for numbers. you would think an engine that is 1.3 in size should give you great fuel mileage. however is this why you bought it? I would guess that anyone who considered buying the rx8 didn't go first to the mpg page. this being said, its still not horrible depending on the way you maintain and drive it. I do baby this car until future track dates............if anyone in cental pa would wish to make one.........i am now ready............ready to test out the bilstein pss9.
^ actually I have to disagree. I have always had a nagging thought on our MPG. People compare it to a 1.3L piston engine, and what they have in mind is a 3 or 4 cylinder ecnobox. What they should really be comparing it to is a 1.3L piston engine that is cranked/tuned/boosted to 232hp. Yeah, if we got 95-110hp, I would agree that our MPG blows *** for a 1.3L. But the reality is, are are generating a massive HP/L ratio.
I really don't think our MPG is really that far off the mark then

I'll agree to that
yeah...to us, gas costs what it costs. it is a necessary evil so we can enjoy driving. most people you run into day to day don't think this way and are shocked that you do.
I couldn't agree more. I've also always thought as soon as you put on the straight billed ball cap, you become rice. Especially when the straight billed ball cap has stickers on it too.
My dad's company built their building/shop.
Cool place and nice vid!

yeah Kevo ppl think i'm nuts to drive the 8 everyday on abou 17mpg city then i claim "well if could b worse I could have the 3 rotor" however whatever the mileage on that thing would b would all b worth it!!! haha
I slapped two rotary powered decals on my car and a panther third brake light thats about as far as I'm going. I don't think thats really ricey since the sticker is actually the truth. In fact, putting decals on your car like Nos and you actually having a Nos bottle in your car isn't ricey since you have the damn thing. Ricers = douchebags that want to have a race car. Quoted from a buddy of mine "They have a camry with an exhaust! That makes it a race car! its loud!" LOL, man i loved that conversation. douchebags...
