rx8 a ricer?

I was told today that because i got the agency power exhaust that comes with the 4in tips that i am considered a ricer now.............how can this be? what makes a ricer? to me it wasen't putting on a high quality exhaust. comments please! the best part is the guy that told me this drives a daddy's 2009 honda accord.

05rex8 01-20-2009 09:26 PM

you aren't a ricer...the AP exhaust is sexy.

Bunique 01-20-2009 09:34 PM

relax.....I'll admit tho, I'm a ricer.

iuillustrious 01-20-2009 09:36 PM

ouch....I think he may have been a bit jealous.

Gauge 01-20-2009 09:39 PM

I wouldve riced up his grill with that comment lol...

Rice is flare without gain. So 4" tips are rice. But so are a lot of other things. It goes downhill when you install a gillette razor rear spoiler.

imput1234 01-20-2009 09:44 PM

I think ricers are the people the buy $3000 coilovers, drive around on race tires, but have never been on a track.

mysql 01-20-2009 09:46 PM

being a poseur is not the same as ricing out a car. But there's nothing wrong with wanting better suspension and not tracking it.

tiltmode43 01-20-2009 09:49 PM

Haha, one time in the parking garage at school one of my friend points out, "Dude, this is like, the definition of rice!" to another friend, gesturing at a vehicle.

It was none other than a brand new evo X. Some people just don't know.

Hardparkers are quite different than ricers!

I'm talking about peoples reasons, always the suspension is so much better, never I wanna be low.

I'm buying blah cause its so much better, even tho the person doesn't know what the stock suspension can do.

But your right that is a poser, I saw a cavilier today with 4 wings on top of one other, thats rice.

ShinkaTeen 01-20-2009 09:52 PM

ricing a car is just when you look at a car,

and shit on it just dont make sense.

AAChaoshand 01-20-2009 09:55 PM

yeah, if your mods have a use then it isn't riced out. If you were slappining injen, dohc, Nos, orion, and all that other crap on your car without actually having a mod with that brand on then its riced. If you got a bottle of Nos nitrous in there and you got NOS on the car as a decal that really isnt rice, let them laugh and say nos then push the boost and laugh back.

^^ What he said,

People say my agency power is riced too.

I laugh because they drive econoboxes like accords/neons/focuses/cavaliers living paycheck to paycheck.

dreamtheatermetallica 01-20-2009 10:01 PM

thanks guys i do appreciate the input............i do run the pss9 bilstein's so far but have to wait until spring to run it. I will post inpressions then. It just sucks to have someone tell you your 30000 dollar car is ricer i guess. I WORKED HARD FOR THIS CAR AND I LOVE IT. So beep them right? Not to brag at at all but let me give you a funny fact. I have leased a few cars prior to this.........lol.......i'm not rich.......first was a 1994 riviera supercharged which i loved to death, please don't ask why.............next i had 1998 camaro v6 which sucked.......then a 1992 camaro rs TBI which i loved again........please keep reading for the point........then i actually went back to a 1998 riviera which if i am ever rich i will own one again.............i then got a 1998 camaro z28 ls1 which in my opion is the best engine i have ever had......wow.....wow....and more wow..............Some girl who can't drive ran a red light and totalled it.................now i wanted suspension and looks so i grabbed the 2004 RX8. I cannot praise it enough. I love this car but for different reasons. I have never had so many comments on its looks, power, and overall whatever................RX8 is the perfect blend of power and performance.

+1.. It's not a 'single' thing that constitutes you as being a ricer. For example, ricers have cars with a lot of 'flair' but that's not the end of it.. ricers:
1. tailgate everyone and everything on the road
2. wants to race everywhere, including school districts, parking lots, etc,
3. have no idea that they are ricers and are being laughed at

TopGear8 01-20-2009 10:14 PM

^Good stuff. The Bilstein PSS9's are good coilovers. Peppy has them and he track's his car. He gave them a good review so you will enjoy them at the track.

05rex8 01-20-2009 10:14 PM

^lol grammar nazi

Veritas717 01-20-2009 10:25 PM

I think rice has a few definition...

- Ricer = Import car with loud 'can' exhausts on 4 bangers and slammed to the ground where you can't even drive it around town.

- 'Brown' Rice = Is when you drive a Neon or Cavalier with a huge wing and stickers and or under body neons

- Minute Rice = Is anyone that 'pimps' their car out with stuff you buy from Fred Meyer's or Shucks Auto that can be applied/stuck on within minutes.

You can make a car look nice with performance add-ons and upgrades without becoming a ricer. I still don't understand what people see in making your car a ricer... :icon_no2:

dreamtheatermetallica 01-20-2009 10:28 PM

hey i realize i am not an expert but why everytime if i am not expert am i made to feel bad............its like everytime i don't spend 24 hours researching something i must suck....i apoligize for purchasing this car then............all hail the owners.

imput1234 01-20-2009 10:28 PM

To be honest, other than the obvious riced car, ricer to me is also an attitude that ricers have.

Make sense?

I'm actually gonna go get some rice now, I hungry.
