Def more low end torque (which is hardly surprising).
So they haven't changed the name from Datsun to Nissan, Down Under???

RX8 = pick up 3 hot young chicks at once and you're guaranteed to get all their numbers, have sex with one of them (possibly all of them that night)... BUT the one in front will try to shut her door before the back is closed :\

350 = pick up some cougar with zebra print tights and have her sneak you past her 18 year old sons room... (Because we all know hot young girls travel in packs) Or just hollar out the window at girls and not pick them up because ur best bud and wingman is sitting shotty...

you're choice really... and even if your bud is with you in the 8.. theres enough seats to sit one girl each.

But the person behind the driver, well i am a bit over 6 foot, has to be short. But then again short women are just so damn cute.

For those of you guys buying a car in hopes to pick up girls...I think that's very dumb...Champion.
If you're just buying a car for that reason (sex appeal), I dont think you should be calling yourself a car enthusiast.
Like some say...are you trying to compensate for something you are lacking? (sarcasm)
It's working on the car and driving pleasure/pleasures that makes me want to buy a particular car.

Obviously nobody is serious! Go look up "Jabber" in dictionary before you throw any more pearls of wisdom.

As much as I love the RX8, from it's practicality to the handling, the only thing about it that bugs me vs the 350Z is the gas mileage. For the gas mileage the rx8 gets, IMO, it should have more power.

Sure, sports cars don't get the best gas mileage, but my from the experience of several friends with Zs, they rarely dip below 18 mpg in city driving (usually it's 19-20), and often see 25-27 fwy (measured properly with miles driven on a full tank divided by gallons)

^^^
Many may disagree but that's really my opinion...if gas weren't so expensive and the RX8 consistently got decent-to-great highway MPG, I'd be much more inclined to get one.

Aside from that, the RX8 beats the 350Z in many departments. It's far more practical, feels much lighter and has wonderful feedback from the chassis, and there's nothing like winding up the engine to 9500rpm without worry. Bad gas mileage is the tradeoff for having so many positive traits in one car, I suppose.

Get the Z. If you live on farm, you can use it to herd your cows.

Wow lots of Z haters here but don't blame ya cause if this was posted on a Z forum...you'll get an earful about the 8 as well. I love the way the 8 look especially the VR's. Reason why i chose the Z was b/c i of: aftermarket parts and yes a 2 seater (don't like people sitting behind me) don't like convertibles so the s2k was out.
Can't go wrong with either....as mentioned before, it depends on your criteria

just get a 350z so you don't have to explain to everybody that you aren't retarded for buying an rx-8. just be like everybody else.

I was torn between the Z and the 8 when I bought my car about 2 years ago. Now that I've got a baby on the way, Im grad I went with the 8! If I had gotten the Z, I would have to be looking for a 4 door right about now.

+1
Having 2 functional rear seats gives the RX-8 a major advantage over the Z. It also
has a trunk with space. You can't even fit a milk crate in the back of the Z.

Reasons not to get a Z

The Z is ugly.
Too many people have them.
They are heavy.
It has cylinders.
Two seater.
Insurance is high.
Did I mention that it was ugly?
The OEM Paint is shitty. (I had a G35, crappy *** paint)
Frameless Windows (Easier to get broken into)
It costs too much.
Interior is crappy.

Get an 8, end of story.
