You can take ur R-comps to the track in your back seat in the 8, in the Z you'd be lucky to fit a helmet. End of trouble deciding, plus the 8 glides thru turns rather than pushes (straight ahead) when you push hard into tight corners. Finesse wins every time with the 8.

People who think the 350Z is reliable need to talk to a lemmon law lawyer. A friend of mine who has spoken with one said the 2005-06 Z's were dropping engines left and right, and that lawyer personally handled a bunch of cases, more than any other car that year, including RX-8's.

Not to mention the Z is a rattle trap, rides harsh, howls on the freeway, gets a nasty wind buffer with the windows down, is terribly uncomfortable, super crampt, no trunk space, heavy, ugly, wears you out to drive, doesn't handle as good, is just as expensive if not more expensive to modify than the RX-8 even tho there are more options, and everyone else and their mother has one.

uh, i dunno. to me it seems like his rpms climb a lot quicker than mine do.

it might be the fact that he is an expert driver. but my rpms dont climb nearly as fast in the higher gears. and i've ridden in other rx8s, my 8 is not slow by any means.

I also needed a 4 seater, so I can haul people around, 2 seat is just too little, and ofcourse, driver seat decline is a must, however the back seats without the middle armrest would do fine too

gas milage on this car is pretty much about the same as the Z from what is "supposed to be" but in reality, the Z should probably get more milage

my gf hates nissans

thats why, I really liked the freakin car, but I don't regret buy the 8, and I have an automatic, thats saying something (although most people on this forum would be like OMGZOR!!)

Everyone's favorite question is back. Answering this question is more for us (the 8 owners) than it is for the OP.

I didn't consider the Z because I had my heart set on the RX-8 the instant I first saw one pulling out of the Mazda "Rev-It-Up" event. To me it is one of the sexiest cars on the road today. I've also had a fascination with the rotary since I learned of the RX-7 in the 80's. The extra doors and seats were just icing on the cake. Personally, I think the extra doors make the car look really unique.

I think the Z is ugly. I couldn't own it because I can't stand to look at it. IMHO, the interior is even worse. Can't knock the performance though. If acceleration and muscle are what you're looking for, you can't do much better than the Z.

My GF just bought a G35 and I really like it. The interior just kills the Z and it has a much cleaner designed body (no fugly door handles). The power makes it fun to drive, but I'd take my 8 any day of the week...except she has climate control. Dunno if the Z has it, I assume so.

I think the 8 is the superior automobile to the Z and I love having something that is so exotic. Gotta buy what sings to you though, the Z is a great car, just not my style.

I test drove both and bought the 8. Simply stated, the Z has no soul, nor does it stir any real emotion from the driver.

Our views are a bit one sided, and I would be interested to know if anyone has ever had the courage to blog on the Nissan forum and argued the point there!

Z has an easy time for engine parts. You can source from Altima, Maxima, G35, Quest minivan, Xterra, Murano, Pathfinder.... endless! Not to mention dashboard parts, seats, wheels, exhaust pipes..... boo-yeah! Parts bin car FTW!

350z is a great car, but i test drove it too before buying my 8 and found it bulky, especially compared to the nimble, agile 8. but honestly, the huge difference for me was the KILLER interior of the 8, Chicks LOVE the interior lights around the sterio, and the suicide doors...hate to say it but 350z interior is very bland. those 2 things were just as big as the handling differences

What'd you expect in a RX8 forum?

If the RX-8 is such a better car, then why do the sales #'s tell such a different story?

If you have to come here to ask which is better......it's like asking Darth Vader which side of the Force he prefers.

Trust your own car buying sensibilities/priorities and.............just for fun post the same question in a 350 Z forum and report the results here.

But....I have read several car magazines who did a comparison and have never seen the Z beat the RX-8. They all say that the RX-8 is a better package over all.

I never knew that quality of car is directly related to the number of vehicles sold...
