One thing you won't get about a rotary from reading about it is how fun it is.
Seriously, forget torque and MPG numbers, forget power-to-weight ratio, just test drive an 8 and get on on a clear freeway on-ramp and stomp on it in 2nd until redline, then shift to third and back off when your ***** start to shrink.
Forget the 0-60 times, just experience the sound and feel of a rotary under WOT at redline and see if it moves your soul.

This is what sold me on a 8.
What is it that makes someone a Honda/Acura fanatic?
I can understand rotary fanatics, Corvette fanatics, Porsche fanatics, etc. But Honda/Acura? Next thing you know there'll be Ford Taurus fanatics.
On the best mods: Tubingchamp has it right. It's personal. I love my mods (modest though they may be) but there are probably short people who never use toll roads who think I wasted my efforts.
