Estimate came back at a little over $7K to repair. I believe it will be listed as totaled.

Chevrolet SS looks interesting. With 5 kids, I don't think I will be able to get another RX.

That is some real questionable sh*t right there. If the insurance company told you to go there and then the collision shop said it was totaled, then the insurance is saving money.

I'd say no to that and then mention I was contacting a lawyer. It's amazing how that phrase makes companies change their minds.

Work hard with the insurance company to get your car back if that's what you want. They want to total it - (1) their interest is lessening liability that the repairs may not make it roadworthy resulting in another accident AND (2) they "make" money off the resale of the parts since the sum total of those parts are worth more than the car.
