All's I'm saying is that after reading all the **** talking about STIs all over the internet, and listening to all the hot import night watching tuner wannabes, I was very surprised at how well the 8 actually compares in real life situations.

I've driven the STI and must say that while driving it I'm thinking there is no way my 8 could keep up with this thing. It's just that the power delivery is so different, but I can honestly say that with only a few times behind the wheel of the STI there is no F*c&ing way I would feel comfortable cornering like I would in the 8.

I am in no way bashing the STI, cause when it's launched well, my god it's a thing of beauty. Even if I am watching from the back.

All I'm saying is that it is not nearly as one sided as the soobie boys would have you believe.

Having owned both I know my STI is a lot faster than my RX8 was from a stop, roll, whatever. A stock STI doesn’t have as much pull at highway speeds as I was expecting although a Cobb Stage 1 OTS map (no other mods except the accessport/map) and the pull is much, much better in 3rd or 4th gear. If anyone buys an STI if you do nothing else to the car get an Accessport. Who can say no to 35 more hp for $600-$700?

The handling of the RX8 is much better than the STI although you do need to drive them differently. You can go into a corner a lot quicker with an RX8 than you can an STI and you can lay on the power more in an STI coming out of the corner than you can in an RX8.

One thing I found interesting was just a simple performance alignment on the STI greatly improves turn-in, like a lot. I had some steering rack bushings installed and this threw off the steering wheel alignment so I needed to get it fixed. Didn’t expect it to do anything more than just line up my steering wheel but I was very surprised in how much better it corners.

The cars are really different and I don’t think one is better than they other, they just do things differently is all.

I lost all interests with the Impreza WRX STi after Subaru went away from this....

IMHO, best Impreza ever. Later models was never able to duplicate the mystic, the charm, the character of this genre of hot STi variants.

Ya this is a good question. It seems that mechanical ingenuity and competence do not always mean styling prowess. This is why you need to hire a design team that works rather independently to design the exterior/interior. If the administration decides to totally **** with a good design before being officially put out into production, then you might as well not even have a design team.

Subaru=ugly. omg even their logo looks terrible.

No point clinging to the past, the car is what it is. Im glad the big wings and pronounced hood scoops are gone.

Think I had 800 miles on mine, huge difference, the stock tune is, just well, terrible. Looking forward to a DP, CAI and protune, probably the farthest I'll go power-wise as this is my family hauler.
