without ACTUAL pix of the junk in your car as evidence, this thread is useless...

I haven't packed my 8 to the gills yet, but I did haul some 10' lengths of 3/4" PVC pipe home from the store the other day. They fit with about an inch to spare by stabbing through the ski passthrough and touching the passenger footwell. The trunk closed.

On another occasion I hauled home a pretty heavy shipment of a Biesmeyer table saw fence with 7' rails, still in box. I just flopped it in the passenger seat. The guys at the freight dock laughed. I do own a truck, but its more fun to drive the 8.

The 8 is actually better than the truck for hauling long stuff, I only have a 7' bed.

I've had my 3 kids in the cabin with 4 body boards, 2 beach chairs, 1 umbrella, a bag of towels/beach gear, and a small cooler in the trunk for beach days.

Also, ten 4x4 fence posts, two 2x4x10's, plus some smaller boards, supplies and a large Sonic Cherry Limeaide for a porch rail rebuild. The 10 foot boards fit nicely, but 12 foot boards had to hang out the trunk a tiny bit on a later trip.

For a 16day road trip last year...

1 three person tent
2 sleeping bags
2 large pillows
2 large blankets
1 ten Gal water jug
1 large playmate cooler
2 large duffle bags each with 1 week cloths, swim and hiking gear
1 "sandbag" backpack with med 1st aid kit and snacks for the hiking
1 fair sized bath bag with essentials
1 backpack style cammera bag (4 cammeras, binoculars, etc.)
1 med tote with car essentials (4qt oil, full Zaino kit, window cleaner, 3 large towles, 3 hand towles, 6 microfiber towles [gotta look good!])
and by the time we got back 2 med totes of junk we bought.

The only things in the cab besides me and my girl were the cooler and camera bag. Avg mpg was 21 over 7000 miles through southwest and moutains. This is the perfect road trip car. Pulled into a KoA one night and no one could believe we had all that in there lol.
