What do you USA guys think of this beep?

I think it's better than the North American version.

thats not the 8500rpm beep...thats the speed trap beep from the nav system...

 

eh? The navigation system is not a radar detector.

Yep don't think that is the rev beep since it only went off at the 8k range, despite his first shift was at almost the 9k point with no beep.

Wish that was the shift beep though, much more noticeable.

 

Nope, that's a regular good old dash mounted radar detector.
also notice he immediaely slows down when he hears it.
It has nothing to do with the NAV system. Its just worded in a confusing way on the caption

that almost sounded like the adjustable rev beep from an sti. I liked that beep as it is adjustable and I was able to hear it on the autcross course. I know the s2000 site has an aftermarket one you can get as I was going to get one to put in my wrx.

 

When I borrowed my father's RX-8 for a week and took it through some of the most challenging roads in WV and OH I could find, I relied on that beep to tell me when I had to shift at times when my eyes absolutely had to stay glued to the road. (Let's just say the RX-8 feels great through steep uphill curves.) Great feature. But an HUD tach would also be very nice.

would be nice if that were our beep...but it agree with the others. sounds a lot like a regualr whistler radar detector. and yes, the 8K beep denotes it even better.

Yesterday, the guys were back from college for thxgiving break, and as usual, I'm one of the drivers when we're off to dinner.

Me: *smirk*....zoom, beep, zoom, *takes turn at 20 mph*
Friend: OMG RAPTOR
Friend2: How have you not been in a wreck yet? Is the car still in perfect condition?
Friend3: Omg I don't want to be one of those kids in the newspaper who died in a car accident

...fools . It's impressive how a car with only 180 whp can make people scream for their lives. I think the beeper helps with that.
