I can't speak much on the damage, but no car is KBB "Excellent" unless showroom immaculate. You should use the next rung down for reference...I think it is "Good"

I don't think it will matter as long as your title is clean and the body work is perfect.

that damage looks reparable without replacing anything.. except maybe the side marker light if it doesnt buff out.

Fender was way too dented to repair. The headlight looked okay but once they took everything apart the bracket was broken and beyond repair. There was some kind of separation with the bumper that was beyond repair aswell.

I wanted to go ahead and put a new bumper on since it was only a 100 bux more than a reconditioned one.

I kept the bumper and headlight, someone will buy it.

IF it's not too late you should pocket the money and trade sell it as is. Then someoen knows what they are dealing with. If you traded a car in to me with a new un vin matched fender and a new, unmatched bumper cover I'm tkaing $3k off of Trade in Rough... that repair typically indicates frame damage. That damage shows someone that jack **** happenned to it.
They may believe it is less with pictures and only come $100 or so off rough.

VERY few cars are worth good, most are average at best, and that is if your mileage is LOWWWW, cuz KBB doesnt deduct NEARLY enough for mileage.

In general, don't use KBB at all. Look at retail sales online and subtract $3k for a clean car, $5k for yours for a wholesale value.

I thought about selling the car as is but the repairs have already been done. I really cant see too many people wanting to buy a damaged sports car, plus really my only out of pocket cost was 600.

I find your argument kinda hard to believe that since there was 3000 worth of damage and its been fully repaired to better than it was that I should subtract 3000 off whatever its worth now. IDK I guess we will find out what kind of reactions I get from possible buyers.

Basically I have all the paper work showing that there was no damage to the frame at all, only cosmetic. The headlight alone was 900 to replace.

Ehh I'm sure its more cost effective for them to just replace it than try and repair it. I wasnt going to argue.

I was speaking from an appraisal point of view a ta dealership. I would only have subtracted $2k with the damage, $3k with it fixed... The reason, is that when you have covered it up, you don't know what you are working with. If you can see that it's nothign to be worried about, then you can see that.

They won't take your "word" for anything. Unless you are a repeat customer, your "word" is worthless. Dealers get lied to and scammed on a daily basis. EVERYONE is out to get them.

Non factory body parts and non factory paint are NOT GOOD.

You bought a sports car.

Forget about resale value. It's not an investment. It's a pit to throw money into.

I don't think you have to disclose the accident unless the damage was more than 25% of the value of the car. I'm not sure if that is accurate, but you could always pull a CarFax report and see if it shows up. If it doesn't, it's your concious and resale value. This is a gut call...if you feel the damage has been taken care of and won't resurface later, peace out.

Personnaly, I would keep the car. If it was done right, you shouldn't be worried about it. If no one can notice the paint matching in the fender and they are in the business of buying cars...that's their problem.

My $0.02

Fender was new, headlight was new, I paid an extra 100 for them to put on a new bumper instead of a reconditioned one. Basically they will only use new parts if the car is 2 years old.

At least thats what my insurance policies are. I'm sure most operate this way since reconditioned items are cheaper than brand new.
