Request for info on mirrors - Newbie

Hi guys

I have been lurking this forum for some time and I am getting ready to make the big step and buy a red beauty.

I just wanted to ask you if the rx-8 optional equipment includes power foldable mirrors. My garage's entrance is pretty tight and it would be much easier for me to fold and unfold them electrically whan getting in and out.

Thanks

P.S. What a fantastic forum this is...

He said the "entrance is pretty tight". Presumably, once he is inside the garage he can open the doors.

Are you guys parking in a closet?? For some reason I think the 8 looks is a little slender compaired to most cars. But looks can be deceiving I suppose.

Hi guys and thanks for your responses.

Yeah, the garage is pretty roomy, once you get inside :-)
But since I live in an old building that cannot be altered - due to its architecture value - the only option is that tight door.

Thanks anyway.

Is the building old enough that maybe the garage was originally a carriage house?

I didn't even know that there were mirrors out there that did that. What comes equipped with them, the Lincoln Navigator? I know the Navigator has those cool running boards that tuck themselves away...

Not that I like SUV's. ::spits:: Phooey!

Yeah, could be an old carriage house. Actually I am in Central Europe so nothing weird about that over here.

As for the mirrors they are offered as an option in every car costing more than 15000 Euros over here. But, obviously, not in rx-8.

These are a Japanese option, I believe. There is a little button next to the electric mirror controls that folds the mirrors inward.

i am quite sure that it is a law or rule in Japan to have retractable mirrors. All Japanese cars i have seen have them. So in theory you should be able to get the parts or whole mirrors from Japan
