red-line buzzer or limiter does anyone know?
I think the media get the 8500 rpm buzzer confused with the 9000 rpm redline. Several articles state 8500 redline and imply that the s2k's redline is higher
-- which is of course false.

theoretically, the redline could be at like 20000 without a problem right?
ofcourse theres that e-shaft thing i heard about and flexing and screwing the whole thing up so it needs a somewhat more sane limit.

In order to have obtained a safe working limit of 10,000 rpm, Mazda must have done some serious lightning in the rotor department, or discovered some wonderful new strengthening process for the stationary gears (or both). But 20,000 rpm is still a long way off.
