The reason for the film in the HIDs

OK, so I did a search about this and it yeiled nothing.

So I know that this happens and that people here know of it. My qustion is, why does this happen, what causes it to happen (the filmy thing on the HIDs)

Thanks ahead of time,
Sean

There was a post a while back, sorry unable to find it. Anyway the cause was said to be the plastic outgasing and the outgasing leaving the white residue on the inside of the lense.

Mazda apparently has "fixed" this problem by changing suppliers to one that hopefully has a better quality platic.

I recommend you waiting as long as you can to get your headlights replaced. They get beaten up by bugs. A little film on the inside is minor. Get new headlights at like 20k.
