Hmmm, if only there was a way to search for information about the Racing Beat intake and exhaust on this site...

There's a search function? And "yes", I think I will use this picture and the first sentence each and every time this comes up?

Installed both of them on my 05. Power gains are going to be minimal on any year of the rx-8. the revi and the exhaust might net you 5-6 hp at the most. the dealer can only void your warranty if they can prove that that aftermarket part directly caused the failure of a specific part of your engine.

since I see you just recently joined the forums, let me say: WELCOME!

As for the Racing Beat question, I have the Revi Intake, Air Duct, and exhaust on my car. I can't say enough good things about them to be honest. The intake is a great design, doesn't look too out of place, and the filter is even easy to clean. (it's a K&N filter)
The exhaust is very subtle at idle and low rpm's. Once you really get on the pedal, you'll definitely notice it but it's not "ricey" sounding and doesn't drone on the highway.

As for hp gains... dont' really expect anything spectacular. You might get a few HP's here and there but it'll be minnimal.

If you want Sound - don't buy the Racing Beat unit. My kar w/ the OEM Cat is SO silent w/ the RB Catback it's a huge disappointment. My kar's exh. is SO quiet, when the car is coming at you, the engine is louder.

Yeah, when we did the SoCal Dyno DAy (19 rx-8's), we were playing around with a decible meter and it was funny to see how much louder my intake / engine was then the exhuast.

But then again, thats one of the reason why it is so good because It isn't too loud but sounds deeper than factory.

is being on a dyno considered 'under load' as far as the engine is conserned??

+1.............have the same setup and am very happy. Not everyone wants to have a loud annoying exhaust.

you should hear the engine. not the exhaust. hearing the exhaust is cheap ricer, hearing that sexy engine is pure music.

So 911s, M3s, Mustangs, Enzos, Carrera GTs - are all ricey? Dude - I can't even hear my car's exhaust when I'm following behind it in another car, unless the person driving MY get gets to 8-9k rpms.

ANYONE want a good deal on a used RB? :D After hearing the GReddy in Dannobre's car, I think that's the one for me...OR I buy a test-pipe.

dmp, I don't know why your RB sounds so quiet, but I compared my RB next to a Greddy, and I didn't find Greddy much louder (just a bit raspier). In fact, the GReddy reminded me of the Borla, kind of tad raspy, but not overly so. Still good depth to it.

The RB exhaust sounds relatively quiet (close to stock) when it's cold, but once it warms up, it's quite a bit louder than stock. Have you heard a stock exhaust recently? It's night and day difference. I heard some at a recent meet and a buddy of mine has an all-stock 8.

In fact, I just bought an intake because I couldn't hear the engine well enough over the exhaust. The sound was mostly all exhaust.

I don't know why our experiences are so different. Anyways, I personally would not want to go any louder than the RB exhaust, it's perfect for me (and sometimes too loud when driving in residential neighborhoods at night).

I just installed the Racing Beat intake with the ram air duct. The intake sounds stock until you get on the gas, when you hear an extra deep sound added in the mix. It complements the RB exhaust rather well. It's not too loud, although I wish it was louder.

However, I heard the AEM/Mazdaspeed intakes and they are waaaay too loud during WOT. I redline 1st on a regular basis and I don't want cops to hear me a mile away. AFAIK, there's no middle-ground intake, so I went with the RB.

I have just the intake and air duct from Racing Beat, and that is with the stock exhaust.

For me that is plenty loud enough when you give her the gas!!

Performance wise...defeniately pulls harder above 5-6k rpms.
