When I took delivery of my 06 about 2.5 weeks ago, Mazda had a service insert recommending that the first oil change take place at 3750 miles, and then every 7500 miles/6 months after that.

I was planning on just bringing it in at 3,000.

Why would I need to change it after the first 1,000 miles? And what is there to worry about if I don't?
Just follow the manual's recomendation....save your money
