hhmmmm . . . now, had the knowledgable veterans helped in the first place, would the know-it-alls that know nothing still give bad advice? or, perhaps the know-it-alls that know nothing would, in fact, know something and thus be offering good advice?

a conundrum, in any language.

Husky, what the hell is your problem? First you crap on me, you call me a bunch of names like "dick" "grumpy old man" etc. and now you're attacking C&D? He's one of the nicest, most knowledgeable guys on this board!

Decaf, amigo, decaf. Make the switch before a mod hits you with a ban.

Dude, put a few miles on your wheels, read the board, do some independent study, and above all qualify your answers with "well, it's my understanding that ...", or "well in the x number of years and miles I've had my car ..." etc.

Sorry you take offense to people throwing the at you but ... if the shoe fits ... you know I will not correct you unless I know that what you are saying is wrong. And I did apologize that my tone was all wrong before.

But stop with the attacking people for correcting your info.

Thanks! Every now and then I like to dust off my English and Journalism college degrees and use them for some good.

Some quotes from Car and Driver towards me:

"you're innane"
"stop posting comments where it sounds like you're preaching from the bible"

Comments towards others:

"get lost moron!" "you're a moron too!" https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...77#post1909077

"I agree. Just get the hell out."
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...35#post1903835

He's obviously not the "one of the nicest people on this board". I reserve that for posters like NoTears, DarkBrew and swoope.

Like I said before, I have no problem with criticism as long as it's done in a respectable manner. And I am completely done flaming anyone (Car and Driver, you, etc) and am going to give advice which I am knowledgable about.....claims and insurance related issues. It won't stop me from giving advice, but I will take take what you stated into consideration.

One again Stew, no hard feelings. Car and Driver too.

There have been a few instances in the past week where the first dozen responses to an innocent and uneducated question have been rude. I've deleted many of these posts and have waited for people like C@D or Stew to give a proper diplomatic response. Once that happens, most responses after that point usually stay equally diplomatic. Once even one person starts to criticize, everyone else afterwards do too. This needs to stop. I will continue to delete posts like this and hand out warnings or points if necessary and sometimes I'll just go in and edit your post. Depending on my mood you never know what I'll make it look like you said! Remember the system no longer shows that a mod has edited posts. Be nice to new people.

If you can't respond in any way other than "search", DO NOT POST! Let it go and move on. If you want to tell someone to search you need to be nice about it. Typing search is WORTHLESS! Give these people a brief on topic response as a valid answer to their question. Just enough to tell them something. You don't need to go into detail. Then nicely suggest that they run a search for more information on the subject. This is the proper way to do it and it will ensure that they come back. You just never know, some of these people might really be able to contribute in big ways in the future. We don't just want the people with really thick skin in here. We don't have a hazing ritual of initiation. We are an information forum and that's what many people come here for. Please be nice or be quiet.
