Where can I find a "guide" on all the different options and packages available for the RX-8 by Mazda? Mazda's website shows tiny pictures of each option and lists them all (under the online shopping section), but I'm looking for a Upside/Downside of each option and details on its functionality, usability, features etc, etc. Also, I've heard many of you talking about your MP3-CD players.. is this a stock option offered by Mazda or not (I can't find any official Mazda info on it)? TIA!

 

You've found probably the best source of info around....And no the mp3 isn't stock. Have you tried your local dealer? They usually have some decent brochures...

 

Well, I'd like something third-party, Car and Driver style (non-dealer, non-mazda, non-retail). And dealer isn't an option for me yet, at least not for a few weeks. I'd like to get an idea of exactly what I want before I set foot on a dealer. I'll probably end up drooling on everything I see otherwise.

 

there is probably a spot on Mazda's website where you can get them to mail you a brochure. Or call up a dealership and just ask them to mail you one.

Options:
its all packages.

Basic package.

Sports package (required if you get MT) I would say this is all plus.

Touring package: Adds Moonroof, Bose sound system, homelink mirror. Cons: Search for Bose on here, most say its not worth it. Moonroof: you lose 1.5 inches of headroom, killed the deal for me.

GT package: (have to get Touring to get this) leather seats, heated seats, power seats. Cons: The same as leather in any other car.



edit: I assume you have to get the sports package in order to get the Touring Package, but I don't KNOW that. Someone will verify here shortly I'm sure.
