Well, if you did, you'd probably be broke, and it wouldn't really even be an RX-8 anymore.

Premix the fuel; you can feel the slight increase of power and the slight increase in mpg will pay for the 2 cycle oil.

I put 225/40r18 Hankooks on instead of 225/45r18; gears down 3.3% and you can for sure feel the better take off.

Take out the baffles in the air filter housing for better air flow, and keep stock type air filter in a WIX brand.

All these things are free, but you need new coils, so buy the BHR coil upgrade, and you can feel that and you'll be set for maybe life of car.

Also, change your plugs with the BHR, and every 25-30k miles afterwards.

Anything after this is for real mechanical people that are willing to tinker all the time to use things like cat delete pipe, or turbo.

I used to put 110LL and 100LL in my eight. Aircraft fuel + slight lead coating = love in an 8.

All of those combined wont make enough of a difference to be noticeable beyond a placebo effect. The coils are the only thing that might be noticeable and that will only be significant if the coils on his car are already weak. If the car is running strong, then that probably wont make much of a gain either.

What year is the car? If it's one of the 4 port automatics, you might want to consider getting a manual. I know a lot of people hate hearing that, but it is a legitimate option compared to getting more power out of the 4 port engines. You can see some gains from getting most of the bolt-on mods for the car and a tune. Otherwise, you need to consider nitrous or a turbo kit.

Ok, you got me!

I answered the nubes question wrong, because you and I both know "more power in a auto" is an oxymoron, but only if its a 4spd.

I threw out those easy mods for the poor guy so he could save face.

In the case of my 6spd, I turned a so so car into a reliable and really good handling gem in the real world or bumps and corners with just those mods.

So maybe the baffles ARE placebo, but now, I never lose traction at full power going over bumps or turning unless wet.

The real answer for the nube is get a Vette with torque, and he can drag me to the next corner.
