Poltergeist in the trunk?

Noticed after returning from War of the Worlds last night that my trunk was unlatched -- again. That must be the seventh or eighth time. Obviously the remote button keeps getting pressed by accident. It's not from pocket pool, I swear! I've already disabled the trunk light to keep the battery happy. That new key with the trunk opener delay almost looks like a good thing. Anybody else encouter this on a recurring basis?

Is this a 2005? There might be a TSB and you'll get the new key.

When you get the new key, do you have to turn in your old one? Also, anyone have the TSB or a link?

The new key goes with cars produced after April 1, 2005, according to the TSB. It doesn't say anything about replacing older keys, even if they are 05 models. I'll check the dealer though.
Zuhalter, here's a link:

My previous car was a Mercedes that had the switch blade key also. When I got the 8 I noticed I was opening the trunk almost every time I turned off the car. I found out that by putting the key in the ignition with the buttons facing up it eliminated this problem. Hope this helps, by the way I never had this problem with the Mercedes!!

My 04 key fob button cannot pop the trunk when the engine is running, I believe. I think it's designed that way to avert accidental openings.

Saw War of the Worlds last night. Damn. Intense movie.

Doesn't pushing the button in the glove compartment disable remote access?
