Plug wire fell off
Yesterday at the Autocross I had a plug wire come off. I think it was the forward bottom which would be a trailing???
heard a funking pop/crack sound from under the hood. Looked in there and could see the huge spark jumping from the plug end to the rotor housing. Made a good decision to shut it off before putting it back on. Looked like that would hurt.
Must have happened a bit earlier as the car became harder to start for a couple runs. after I plugged it back in the car ran great again.
Bottom line ( crappy dealer maintenance tech).
Oh and the car did exceptionally well against a Saleen Mustang an M3 and a 993. only cars faster were on race tires. The stock Potenzas are just about gone now.

Time to do the maintenance MYSELF. These wires original equipment, only 17K miles on the car. new plugs were installed recently while the car went in for the engine re-call thing.
Car seems fine. Wife always comments on how well the engine runs after a day of autocross..

yeah, I needed new plugs a few months ago and there's no way I was going to let some "tech" do it.
Joe: make sure you check those plugs every 25K miles.
If you're in the market for wires down the road, I recommend the RB wires.

Thanks,

mine did it with stock wires.. and the spare motor i bought had arching on the plug...
was under the car yesterday to check.. was tight as a clam. but racing beat wires now...
beers
I think the RB will help with the falling off since they're such a tight fit to get on. (seemed much tighter the stock) Swoope, yours fit tight as well? (Crap! just set myself up on that one...)
