Picking up the new 8!

i have been around the forums for about a month or so, and i have learned so much from you guys. Just wanted to thank you for that. Secondly, thanks to all the great posts i was able to find an 8 that i like and i am flying down to florida to pick it up on saturday. I live about 10 hours away from the dealership that has the car(a buddy of mine owns the car dealership)so i got an incredible deal on the vehicle. Its a 10 hour drive back so i am going to have plenty of time to bond with my new baby, but i will be gentle with it! Just wanted to thank all the folks who took the time to put out some great posts for a newbie like me to read and learn from. I am sure that i will have more questions to be asked once i get the car, and i can rest assured that i will get the answers that i need right here. Just four more days before i join the RX owners club!

thank you guys! I cant wait to sit in the car and drive off into paradise! Any other time i would dread driving for 10 hours, but i cant wait for this trip. Talk about a long week ahead of me...saturday wont get here soon enough. I do hope that i get some descent gas mileage because if not then i will be forking out some money for the 600 some miles that i have to drive. Oh well, i got my new little toy so who cares. i was told to make sure and change up my speed on the interstate to break the engine in. I am going to follow all instructions to the "T". Anyways, thanks again for the warm welcome. Pass along any advice that you might have, i am all ears.

It's like flying somewhere to meet your long lost love! But this one won't talk back & will let you pick the music!

Have a great/safe drive. You ought to get 20-22 mpg if you don't goose the gas too much.

Congrats! You will love the car. Funny you should be flying to pick up your new car...as for me...

I loved my last one (totalled) so much that I wanted the identical car again. And I didnt want to wait 3 months to order one. I found ONE in Kansas. So this Friday I'm flying to pick it up.

This is the only car I would ever think about flying to pick up. Good luck to us both! Drive safely.
