Didn't they just relocate the filter for 09? I just bought Rhino ramps I hope I can get the car on them with my lowering! I had a similar extractor, the one from Griot's Garage (it broke soon after), after the mechanics kept stripping the oil pan threads on my poorly designed Honda so I just left an oversized plug in it permanantly.. . I woulda changed the oil myself but it was such a PIA. But i'm not going thru the pan thing again so changing myself all the time now with the 8! I figure as long as u gotta crawl under and take the filter off anyway, you might as well just undo the drain plug--its already a mess.

So I'm gonna be left with 2.5 Qts of dirty oil in the oil coolers/lines? Wonderful.

Well the thing is on the S2 the drain plug is closer to the front, so you would need to jack up the front, undo the plug, then bring the car back down so that all the oil drains. Next you gotta do some rocking back and forth to get some oil out of the lines. The thing with the pump is that I can just leave the car level and pump out a lot more oil than most have reported through the plug (i got about 5 liters out) and only jack up the car to quickly replace the filter. Personal preference really

I have converted to a single larger oil cooler and I get about 4.5-5 quarts out during a change but with a typical change you will only get out about 3.5 quarts. I measured all this when I did my single cooler install.

Heck, when I removed my oil pan to install the Mazmart kit there was more than a quart left in the pan and that was after I drained the oil.

Yea It might be interesting to remove the oil pan after i drain with the pump to see if there is anything left inside (debris / oil/ gunk). When i took off the filter after all the pumping some oil did come out, but I assume thats expected.

When I removed my pan there was no gunk but the motor only had like 10,000 miles on it and I usually change my oil under 3,000 miles.
