Pela 6k works great! Used it on my S2
 

Did my first oil change today using the Pela 6000. I removed just under 5 quarts of oil (the lines on the container are liters)!

I have a picture of the container once the pump was complete but I will need to resize it. Either way, I managed to replace the filter, and then refill with 5w-30 prestone yellow :).

But damn, i think my next investment is going to be a filter relocation because getting to that thing honestly requires a trained contortionist ape to get to, and lets not even discuss getting the new one in there.

I've used mine for almost 3 years. I've never cracked the oil drain plug on my car. Thing works great, especially for a guy who lives in an apartment and prefers synth oil.

Honestly I think it is worth it. To be dead honest I pulled that much oil without rocking or tilting the car which was really nice. You still get some mess when replacing the filter but at least it isn't as much as you would from dealing with the sump plug

Will it get rid of the gunk that settles down everywhere?

Well my car is lowered so ramps wouldnt work too well due to clearance.

As far as the gunk, i don't know if it would remove any more than conventional methods. I assume that due to the vacuum it may actually suco some up, but who knows

how much are one of these? I could make a ton of money with this thing

You guys are doing it wrong. Just install a Fumoto valve. It costs about $30. You never have to open the drain plug again, and you don't need to jack up the car. Just reach under and flip it.

One of the main reasons i tried this method was to see exactly how much I can suck out oil compared to draining. Also I change oil for my gf and some friends so that's why this was more cost effective for me

How safe is the Fumoto valve?. It kinda has a rare chance of accidental draining when u hit something sticking out of the road.

What happens if the valve sticks and leaks, or gets old and wears out and leaks. This car already makes you check oil enough for me, I think I would rather just stick with my magnetic drain plug. Plus pulling the drain plugs ensures to me that its not going to have a bolt seize on.

Also change the engine oil of my Renesis HP S1 with a PL 6000 Pela Oil Extractor.
LHD car jacked up at passenger side; manage to extract 4,9-5 ltrs (5.2 quarts) from a total engineoilcontent (incl 2 oil coolers) of 6,7 ltrs. (conform Instruction Manual)
This is fairly better than the indication from the service manual, stating an extraction of 3,3 resp 3,5 ltrs. (incl. oil filter) during normal service at a Mazda-servicestation.
I am rather enthousiastic about this method of oilchange and namely the relatively large content that could be extracted, which is considerably more as with the standard service procedure.

Furthermore I use ARAL (part of BP Group) Super Tronic fully synthetic engine oil 0W40 / lowSAPS (seems better for longer cat-life and lower carbon/ashresidu's in combustion chamber) / ACEA A3, B3, C3; API SM/CF.
and Premix with fully synthetic 2 stroke oil (CEC/API:TC+ JASO FC (lowsmoke) ISO-L-EGD PIAGGIO-SI SITI) since car has made a total of 5000 miles.

Damn it only costs $60... I was figuring they would charge way more, thats worth it if thats the route you wanna go. Either way you have to jack the car up or use ramps to get to the oil filter though, so seems like it wouldnt be worth getting. Your already gonna have the car in the air, why not just drain it then.

True, it really depends on what you plan on doing with it. It is moreso a nice thing to have if you have the money laying around. Because the filter's are such a b***h to get to, I plan on getting a filter relocation kit and moving the filter to the engine bay, this way my oil changes wont require me jacking up the car anymore. I just dont know what mazda's stance is on relocation kits.

This is a great idea, ramps are a pain in the ass when you are lowered and honestly jacking it up is too even with a race rack (I have to drive on wood to get the extra inch or two). The Fujimoto valve has been known to leak and you would still have to use ramps or jacks.

Yup, just need the filter relocated and no more needing to jack up the car :wiggle:. If you guys need any more pictures or anything before picking one up let me know.

P.S. another good thing, is that this is great for those of you who accidentally overfill your oil.

Yeah I have a friend who uses something like this on his BMW M Coupe and I have always wanted one but my only hesitation is that the tube would not secure properly to the dipstick tube. Now I know this one will work.

Oh, and for us Series I guys we can use this to change our oil with just the hood open since our oil filter is easily accessible :)

I knowwwww, lucky b**chs lol. I need to crawl under my car and fish my hands through a hole made for a baby chimp while still having enough room to turn the filter lol.

Well, I would take your more inconvenient oil filter location over our lack of a third oil injector any day :)

Agreed with 9k about 3rd nozzle but prefers a gravity fed omp vs the electric one.
