painting calipers

I was wondering if this paint would be okay to put on my calipers or does it not have the necesary heat resistance? How can I find out? Does anyone know if this works like it says it does?
Thanks

The paint:

That isn't high-temp paint.

Don't expect too much even from high-temp paint. I burnt mine off heat cycling my brake pads.

The best solution is to remove the calipers and have them powdercoated.

yeah, just paint them and then NEVER step on your brakes. The heat will boil the paint right off.

you'll need to use a high temperature paint, such as engine, brake, or grill paint.

but, if you prep it right, it will last years (i'm speaking from personal experience with a previous car). all you need to do is clean the surface really well, and then apply a few coats, allowing the paint to dry inbetween each coat according to the directions.

when i did it before, i used a glossy black grill paint, and it still looked great 3 years later when i sold the car. no fade and no cracking/peeling. but any high temp paint should work and last. just follow the instructions. but i don't any of those come as a prismatic paint.

you could maybe use a clear coat to seal the paint in after painting.

the clear coat will come right of too. Just use a high temp paint.

Those are your oil coolers. Don't paint them, or they won't work!! Their job is to transfer heat away from the pipes through the fins that you see. If you coat them with more paint, you'll inhibit them from doing what they're supposed to do and possibly hurt the motor.

Ok, I actually have experience with mirage paint. I used it with polak's rx8 stencils and it is fine. I used only that little middle section on the caliper so the heat doesn't get there as much. However, I think it wouldn't be wise to use these for the whole caliper. The paint would come right off. It is also a real pain to use these for the calipers. I used about 9 coats for the small sections, then painted the caliper red. It is really not worth it.
