It is a fine looking car, but whoever owns it went a lil too gungho with the whole widebody kit. A fine car, but honestly, not one i'd pay near the money to own.

 

replaced with another 2 rotor engine. So it still can't make 700 hp.




I think that was an estimated guess. It blew up on the dyno - I wonder if they got at least one run out of it. I'd bet somewhere around 280-330 like everyone else gets.

ok 700 is probably not true, but just from looking at that pic, it's a 13b-REW with a garret turbo with a external waste gate, and the turbo doesn't look that small, i think it might of pulled so more power than low 300s with that set up.

 

Get a clue, those HKS T04Z's are bad *** ... 600 at the wheels has been done quite a few times with them on a REW. This car looks like a RENESIS, at least the upper intake does, so I doubt he's running high boost at all. Still that setup looks super clean, nicely done and certainly not deserving of any downtalk from people without a clue.

 

It is a Renesis with a custom intake manifold, running 7 lbs of boost when it was sold.


I have been in an 8 with over 300 at the wheels and can't imagine how much faster it would drive having over 450.

A person would be shifting very fast and probably wouldn't be using 1st gear much.

 

I thought the the guy who bought the 8 is on this forum, his username is 904tuner. Maybe he can give us a little more specs about the car, and some real HP #'s.. Also, post some more pictures of the engine compartment, as well the relocation of the battery.

 

I know exactly what that turbo is and what it's capable of. 700whp in a Renesis is one of those things it's not capable of, well, at least not any time soon. I will admit though that first shot of the engine bay is deceptive and it sure didn't look like a T04Z to me which is why I made that comment. So great, it's got a bigger turbo than it looked like it did, what good does it do? It looks nice when you open the hood at the car show... It may look pretty but it's all for show, sorry I'm not impressed.

 

Not really my style whether it has 700HP or 70HP.

 

if it is 700hp.....its probably tested on Mars or something..........

you guys sure it's a renisis? i remember reading about it when the original owner was trying to sell it and i could of sworen that it had a 13b-REW in it. but... hmmmmm i just looked at a pic of my greddy-turbo/renisis, maybe i am wrong, maybe it is a renisis. well either way that's not a small turbo and it's capable of putting out some power... too bad a renisis wouldn't get that turbo's full potential.

Boosted 7. The engine maybe capable of 700hp (i have yet to see anyone do it though). The Turbo maybe capable of 700hp as well (i havent bothered looking up the specs on the max power rating of that turbo)... but noneheless common sense points this to being total horse sh*t. Anyone claiming to have a 700hp Renesis RX8 - would have a dyno sheet (otherwise how would they even know its power).

when all signs point to bull sh*t.. then its probably bull sh*t.

the owner is more than welcome to put the car on a dyno and prove us all wrong. i'll be willing to bet that that will never happen.

I've seen some **** from rotaries most of you guys would call bullshit on, but it's real. **** man, there are guys up in NY making well over 800 at the wheels on a GT45 and streetport REW's. Capable ... how about imaginable. See what I've seen, and a lot more possible in your mind.

Why it's both my Grand Poobah. That turbo is going to reach max efficiency before it hits 700whp even if the Renesis could handle that kind of boost. Then there's the problem that tuners and rotary shops are having a hard enough time hitting half that horsepower with modded Renesis engines. Those straws you thought you saw were just the pink stuff from the bottom of my easter basket
