Can't access those forums without creating a login, which I don't have an interest in...but am I reading your post correctly that he bought the car for $20k? If so, holy frijoles! The bodykit is a bit too much for my liking, as is the loss of the backseat to a speaker setup, but I'd certainly like the go fast goodies and the dashboard work.

I like the reded out tail lights, and the rims, and how he shaved the back except the symbol..... other than that its a bit too much for me...

 

Wish Mazda wouldnt have made those dumb things mount with holes.. ARG! Wash looking for the clean, no emblem look, but noo!!

BTW. Thats one insane RX8.. So nice.. Maybe my BB can be that good someday..

If you're talking abut the dan's toy rx8, it doesn't make anything close to 700 hp...

I'm pretty sure I saw it listed on ebay. I thouhgt maybe it was a scam cause it was around the time ebay removed several RX8 items where the sellers were found to be scammers. I guess it wasn't if your friend bought it.

 

I think we need swift or armando to chime in since he was the original owner, to tell us what this car is all about.


i guess in the R6 forums, they were saying this car was meant as a show car.



im pretty sure that's a 13B in there and not the Renesis, but i could be wrong.

If you read the thread where it was listed for sale, it was bought with a blown engine........for $20k. Who knows it it has a Renny or 13B now.
So you can't say, "NO WAY IT DOESN'T HAVE 700-BHP" because it MAY have a 13B-REW. Even then, 700-bhp it still a strech. Unless of course they mean it dynos at 620 or so RWHP so they say 700 crank HP just to sound cooler I guess.

Can't picture 700hp on a 13B-MSP engine

Can picture 700hp on a 13B-REW engine although reliability will be quite suspect at those levels.

Perhaps its a 20B-REW engine which would obviously be less stressed.........

Either way, its one serious Rx-8.

No way is that a 20B, just look at the engine bay picture.

 

Because the battery is relocated.

 

It has some really nice work done to it.

 

With that cute little snail it's not getting anywhere near those numbers.

 

Also, that widebody kit is hideous.

 

everyone with questions about the power this cars makes...

go back and read the FS thread that was linked, the car HAD a custom turbo renesis 13b according to the original seller. which makes it UBER-unlikely that it had 700 ponies anywhere

BUT as far as this thread and the FS thread for this vehicle goes, we dont know whats been done in the engine bay since purchase of said blown motor

sooo, all the comments about the power this thing cant be making cause the pixies arent of a 20B, or the snail is too tiny, and all are invalid arguments, as those pics are of the turbo renesis that got blown before sale.... but if someone knows something about its status now, i'm sure there are choke more people that would like to hear
