I hope you go through with it. Would be nice to see someone make some big numbers in an RX-8 after years of following turbo kits that never really delivered. It must be doubley frustrating when you actually own an RX-8 and want big horsepower It may not seem like it but I'd love it if there was an RX-8 to ooo and ahhh about, but this car is not that. It's an overdone showcar that probably would struggle to run a 13 second 1/4 mile.

Trust me, there are plenty of guys cranking out well over 400 at the wheel on a Rennie ... just cuz you don't know bout it don't mean it ain't true. Break one open and it's pretty easy to see why it's capable every bit as much as a REW, which has done 700 plus at the wheels many many times on a streetport.

The box does not exist, only on 8club

Tuning is the easy part ... the guy who's paying the bills conquering fear of blowing some motors, that's the hard part.

Plenty of guys making over 400whp on a Renesis? Maybe on some dyno... I'm not talking about some dyno queen, I'm talking about a street car, one that goes to the strip and rips off some runs without a hiccup and the drives home. I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that is happening and people here don't know about it. Maybe I've missed something from other sections of the forum??? Until someone does it, what the Rensis is capable of is pure speculation. Plus, 400+whp is a far cry from 700whp.

Like Paul and I originally said, you can't poke at power numbers because the car was sold with a blown motor, so who the hell knows what it has in it now? Hell, it could have a meth-injected, twin-turbo 3-rotor race engine pushing 1000 rwhp, who knows (although I doubt that's unlikely....)

Honestly Ike, I don't mean to start some drama with you ... but you ain't seen ****. Hit the core of NY tuners, those guys don't even know about this site, or the intraweb at all. They're cranking out **** on a daily basis that would blow your mind. How do I know? There and Puerto Rico are the trend setters in rotary tuning, and they don't give **** about what the outside world thinks.

I've been quite fortunate to be let into that world, and it literally changed my perception about what is possible and what's not. It's hard to explain, I'm both inside the 'forum' box and outside it at the same time.

Who knows if I'll do it ... probably not. Probably somebody with way more time, resources, and skill than I. But that doesn't change the fact that I know somebody will do it, and that I know it can be done.

But then again, who knows. I might just be the guy to do it. I know what's coming up and I won't be afraid to go through 10 motors getting there.

I'm just have a hard time believing it. News travels fast in the import world and secrets are not kept easily. There would be a video, some gossip, some street races, some times slips, some dyno runs, something. Tuners and shops are always trying to outdo one another and they're too quick to toot their own horns when they do something that isn't common. Hell, they're usually tooting their own horns before they've done something uncommon. They don't know about the "intraweb"? I'm not trying to start any drama either, but c'mon man...

I do have to agree with boostd7 just because there aren't guys posting on this site stating that they have over 400 doesn't mean that they don't exsist. I live on the west coast of florida and when i was in miami I saw a few turbo'd 8s and they weren't greddy kits and difinatly not mazsport cars either and they where quick, i mean really quick. far faster than my 8 and i'm close to 300whp.

I was thinking the same thing, would go great with my Velocity red. I was never a fan of the Altezza tail lights.

hey whats up,
I thought you guys might like to see these pictures.......

I took these picture a couple years ago at SEMA September 2005 in Las Vegas. Then a while back I remember seeing a car that looked just like this car in the for sale section (FS: Black HKS Turbo RX8) but it was black and had a different turbo setup and i was like these two cars look really familiar and they both have the same interior. So it looks like who ever owned this car put a lot of work into it and it's changed quite a bit. I like it better in black the way it is now, and I'm sure who ever owns it now is very happy, this car is sick.

at any type of photography store, and it snaps onto the end of a lens. Usually an SLR.
