One Photo that sums up a weekend with my RX8

Oil change (the last of a series to get me to 100% sythetic, put redline tranny fluid in, put redline differential fluid in, washed, wazed, one and general baby'ing of my car. oh yeah I installed a fumoto (spelling?) easy oil draing plug which is badass by the way.

Also not pictured, I installed the denison icelink in my car for my upcoming ipod nano purchase! so it was a busy weekend for my 8!

The tranny fluid does make a noticable change, on cold mornings its no longer like trying to shift thru peanut butter till the tranny warms up, also less "notchy" feeling from 1 to 2 like everyone says, overally very pleased. And i was surprised at just how much that 75W90 STINKS! hah

All in all a very fun weekend! I have a few minor isses with my icelink but will be posting them later in the A/V section.

Oh yes, that *IS* the complete calvin and hobbes collection i picked up from barnes and nobel a few days ago, its 100% worth the high price lol because its hardback/cloth bound, full gloss pages with hard set box. mmmm loving every page of it

Cheers!

Was this the first time you did the oil-change yourself? From what everyone has said, I'll have the dealership do the first one as I have heard the oil filter is pretty tight from the factory.

I also replaced my oils this week, did the redline but went with mobil-1 for engine. How many quarts did use use for the engine? I only placed 4 bottles. I see you have 6.

Same question here as I'm scared of others messing with my baby and I've always done my own oil changes usually. I need to get the first change this week...

ive never had a dealer do my oil changes... the hardest part about the first oil change was finding the right size filter cap that would plug into my socket wrench.... made like 4 trips to auto zone and finally found that universal "import" car filter cap thingy.

I did have 6 quarts of Royal Purple... two of which are the "extra" quarts I keep stashed in my car because I do a LOT of driving (15K miles in 5 months)

Since our car holds like 7-something quarts one thing ive considerd doing just for the sheer ****-ness is changing the oil (4 quarts) and running up and down our road here for a few minutes to re-mix the oil and then drain a quart or two and refill again just for the sheer knowledge that 90 or so percent of the oil in the car is new :-p but i havent ACTUALLY Done that yet.,
