Companies fly engineers places all the time to look at extreme cases so they can adjust future plans. My dad has had to do it for Raytheon plenty of times when they should have just pulled the equipment and put in new. It is worth it to see if it was a design issue or manufacturing defect and to correct it.

Raytheon != Mazda.

The proof for this is outside the scope of this post and is left as an exercise for the reader.

That's sucks man, sounds like you have a lemon. Some of those failure sounds kind of strange (fishy). I just bought an used 04 few months back, and have no problem so far. But that's the same reason I bought the extended warranty. It's kind of amazing how a motor with 3 moving parts can go so wrong. Maybe it was built right before or after a major japanese holiday (sorry, can't resist).

BTW, we all love the FD 7, But if you do get rid of the 8 and get a 7, I don't know you'll have much better luck as far a reliability is concerned. And you'll be paying for everything yourself this time around.

We've got a couple of Engineers from Mazda Japan in my area currently. They change from time to time but there is usually at least one or two.

I've never seen an RX8 with THAT many problems. Hope they take care of you.

The taillights...tech's replace them because they are stupid. It's not a faulty taillight, it's the gasket BEHIND the taillight. If the problem is THAT persistent, and a new gasket does not solve the problem, my god, seal the thing with RTV and BE DONE WITH IT!

The tech's replace the intake when the buttery fly valve in the plastic upper plenum gets gunked with carbon. They are too stupid to clean it.

Face meets steering wheel for no reason..if your brake disc cracked in half (I assume since you had to go to a shop to find out what happened, that is cracked down the middle, down the vents)...I don't see the car coming to a sudden, tire-locking halt. I could see your brakes...not working...but the car wouldn't just stop. Sounds like the ABS locked itself for some reason.

If you had 2 radiator hoses replaced due to bursting, dude, what the hell. Your coolant system was being over-pressurized, most likely due to dying coolant seals in the engine. Did you turn the car on, put a brick on the gas pedal and walk away?? Or wait - is this an automatic car?

first of all what ever crawled up you @$$ and died needs to come out.... first of all I didn't know you could fix the tail lights with RTV. Second, face meet because of a really hard jerk I don't know WHat the HELL happened, what i am telling you is what the techs told me.

3.2 intakes? Exactly what broke or wore out on a static piece of metal with no moving parts? = i don't know, the dealership told me that they broke and replaced it.

no offsense to you but call me a Bull $h*t3r thats cool. im not, all this stuff has happened to my car.
The upper intake is plastic and not metal. There is also a TSB on these for condensation build up. Plastic intake manifolds are also prone to cracks/leaks on any vehicle.

!=, /=, and ~= are all synonymous. And I'm sure there are others. Just depends on your language of choice.

1. Its a very known problem, hell I took my tail light out and clean the gasket, put it back, its been 5K miles since then no more problems, they replaced the whole tail light because they were freaking stupid. Or like the others said, put some RTV on and u're all set (I got a tube 2 weeks ago, but havent got a chance to do it yet)

2. Same as the above, the techs at ur dealerships were too stupid to clean it.

3. Dude, if your brake rotors break in half Im SURE you should heard something. but seems like you didnt and u actually got to the dealership for them to TELL you what is going on ?

4. 2 hoses blew up ? Look first of all hoses WILL blow up eventually, but it sounds like yours just blew up cuz of overpressure.

You said you baby your car right? my ***. Ok ?

You dont even know the basics of any car, and you actually believe EVERYTHING your dealership told u about. You're nothing but a dumbass.

A broken rotor is possible. <- clicky But the situations, methinks, are not equivalent.
