Not another MPG thread?!?

Just out of curiosity how many people have experienced this...

Recently a few of us went on a drive around Coeur d' Alene Lake in the Idaho Panhandle. I used 3/4 of a tank driving the car hard! I may have driven it a little bit harder on the track but not much. I checked my MPG with two small jonts on the freway to get to the lake and back after lunch I was getting 16.34 mpg when I usually only get about that driving in town
under normal driving conditions. So am I getting as good mpg driving the living **** out of my car as I do driving around town?

I noticed this as well a week ago. Went home to visit the parents in WV. Spent half a day driving hard on some mountain roads. Got about 16mpg, which is what I get with 100% city driving. On a side note, Potenzas were still holding up well with 20K on them.

It depends on how you drive in town I think? I get great mileage...maybe 21 or so if I drive lazy...shifting around 3-3.5K RPM...But when I let her breathe it goes alot quicker...
