so how do they verify the mileage on a car with an electronic odometer when the car burns? there can always be something left to analyze on a mechanical odo.

Using that baseline they pro-rated value of my car for mileage, new tires, some of my add-ons, some of my personal property that was in the car, etc.

Doing it that way makes it almost defacto replacement value by zeroing in on the current market value.

If that are adding sales tax to your settlement (~8% in your county? we are 8.00% in Steuben right now) that is *huge*. My Sunfire settlement was in Oregon so no sales tax there, but sales tax is *thousands* in most locations. Glad to hear they'll cover it Sales tax will be far more than your deductible. How lucky can you be?

Getting back to your first post - glib remarks and proper perspective aside - I'll join you in mourning the loss of your RX-8. It's always a shame when they're cut down so long before their time. Nothing wrong with a keepsake box.
Thanks.

I did two things:

1. Gave my buddy my rotor valve caps for his RX8 to wear in memory of mine.

2. I have a favorite pic of my baby. I'm going to frame it and display with the spare key.

thx
