If you really want some usable performance keep the RX8 stock and go find a used shifter kart.
To get the 0-100 performance of a shifter from an RX8 would take about 700 HP.
To get the cornering grip of a shifter kart from an RX8 would take full ground effects skirt package with a 50HP vacuum fan.
Used shifters cost about $3000-$4000.
