Smile New Rx-8 owner in SoCal!

I bought my Rx-8 a few weeks ago, day one did an oil change. And got air pump changed through dealer warranty, regular 102k mileage. So far it's just been the funnest thing to drive. I commute to school, about 200 miles weekly. And a full tank does it. So I'm not unhappy about gas I bought a 5 quart bottle of oil and i believe it'll be me through the 3k miles. (refilling) Getting on and off free ramps is just amazing in this car fell full control of it . Torque isn't all there but still okay. Coming from a Turboed vehicle car does seem a bit under powered. Thinking of Cat Back and drop in k&n filter to change exhaust noise and hopefully a little MPG increase. Just thought I could share my opinion and possibly help future Rx-8 owners. Greetings to everyone.

K&N is a no no, unless you like dirt and dust in the engine.
Get the AEM//Mazdaspeed intake.

Welcome!

Nothing special about the car it's just the gray all oem everything hah. Well i figured if it's just a drop in k&n it wouldn't do harm. I mean people run k&n typhoons, aha. Previous car was an Eclipse GST. I modded it, 3in turbo exhaust, Evo turbo, boost controller ported o2 housings, manifold, all sorts of stuff. Was hanging in with the big bad Evo's. I am near the Inland Empire, of SoCal. Thanks for the welcome!

Eh, the filtering of the K&N filter is pretty terrible, plus the oil likes to be sucked onto the MAF.
Just my two cents, there is some thread around here that goes into detail about it.
