Then perhaps it was just an issue of the old mechanical OMP and old cats. After reading a bit through that other thread it would also seem that the amount of oil injected into the system has decreased since the rx-7. If this is true I would imagine it was done for emission reasons, along with easier servicing. Also if true pushes me to add some pre-mix to my gas to extend the longevity of the motor, unless this was addressed with the ECM update, since it is all computer controlled.

Depends upon your use. Speed source racing say they use 20-50w
You live in Fl. so maybe 10-30 is ok.
Pr-mix no way................. Do NOT use that outboard motor oil uless it is synthtic. It will build up carbon on the apex seals and port and kill you.
FL uh......... try Pettit racing. Go to there site. They make a real good additive for the gas.
It's a matter of opinion for oil additives for street use. More on the positive side for Syntic oil additive to gas than no additive at all.
But you know something? There are several owners of rotaries with 200k and more on the old version and the Rensis is superior. So why even premix with a history like that?
Do you drive at redline or near redline all the time? Depends upon driving habits.
Should I buy a Cat or Dog for Christmas? I hear a cat eats less but a dog loves you more. go figure......?
