CA New Owner/ warranty problem...

5months ago....i bought my 8 in a rush (cause i love it so much! its always my dream car) 2004 4speed GT Rx-8 36,00km, and now its 41000km.

Recently, i start searching info and learn more abt my rx-8 (i know its too late.)
Fortunately, it works great til now =]

And i start worrying abt the warranty problems....
some of my frd said i should take my 8 to the mazda dealer for a check? while its under warranty (8years, 10k km).
I realize that i didnt ask abt the manufacturer warranty when i bought my 8.....
(i bought it from the car dealer/ not mazda)
So, how can i check abt the warranty? is the warranty gone cause im a second hand owner?
thanks...and sorry for asking newb questions

Where do you live?... No the warranty wouldn't be gone because you are the second owner. The warranty goes with the car, not the owner. The most important thing for having Mazda make good on the warranty is usually having the cars maintenance records. Do you have those?

And the whole car isn't still under warranty... At this point I think it is just covered by the engine core warranty and the emissions warranty (depending on where you live)

call a mazda dealer give them the VIN to run thru the computer.
service history depends on dealers, some dealers want them, some dont.

Yeah if the previous owner went to the dealership for their oil changes etc then they may already have most of the maintenance records in their computers.
